Just talked to a nice young lady from the Air Force who informed that until at least Oct. '07, the Air Force is good and full of all Officers except those with degrees in Aviatronics. She recommended the Navy, and told me to talk to a recruiter who knows something about anything (with a degree, you don't take the ASVAB).

Back to square one.

PA's are physicians assistants, it's a growing career that is sort of between nursing and being a doctor. You tend to only see the routine patients, and can prescribe some meds, but only in your speciality. It's still hard, but slightly less organic chemistry.

Perhaps the social sciences would hold more appeal for you, LGBT research is a hot field right now. I'll see if I can find an article or two about that.

(ps- 30k is not great money. It's not bad, when you consider that if you get shipped off to war, you lose those housing benefits, it's really not that awesome)
