Aug. 12th, 2008 05:04 pmMonday - Had a VERY freaky dream (though not a nightmare) involving me and Ken in some secret undersea lab. The mad scientist was fucking with our genes to make us aquatic. Ken was getting fish DNA, and I was getting seal dna. Even though seals can't breathe underwater, my formula was still letting me. This process involved the usual injections of weird stuff and the like, but also involved putting live specimens in a tank that was also a blender. There were all sorts of dead water animals hanging on the walls. They struggled with Ken's last fish (we'd been through several treatments before), which was enormous, and kept hitting blend, but nothing happened. This was a very very very very freaky dream, but I was really removed from the fear, like it was someone else's, or at a great distance. Weird.
Anyway, I woke up when Ken got up, but then went back to sleep until 7. Ate the remaining ice cream, and the leftovers from dinner. puttered about online for a little while, did my workout, then got ready. Since Ken had work, and his mum didn't leave until the evening, she opted to come with me to my dr.'s appt. We got there a little early, filled out some paperwork, waited back in the waiting room, filled out more paperwork, waited back in the waiting room, saw the counselor, and was turned loose until my actual appt at 1. I had originally planned on walking over to Ralph's or TJ's for some flower food, but his mum seemed tired of walking, so we just stopped at the little flower store on University and 5th and headed back. Still had to wait an hour or so to see the dr., but at least we took up some time and got a decent workout in. The dr. asked the standard questions, listened to my heartbeat and the like, and seemed somewhat concerned about my petechiae. She seemed less concerned when she found out I'd done my homework on them. She was rather unconcerned with my ankle, just saying that it had probably been strained somehow. Thank you.
Back at home, his mum looked in vain for food in the house, and I thought in vain for something for her to do, when who should come home but Ken! He'd gone in early and taken a short lunch, so was able to show up just in time. We went to lunch at Mo's, since it was on the list of places he wanted to take her. He offered to buy me something, but I wasn't really hungry. He got a half sammich with fries, and I ate most of them. After lunch, we stopped by my car, and then they dropped me off at The Center's Behavioral Health building on their way to see the condo that Ken's trying for. The folks there had told me to show up at 4pm for my 5pm appointment.....except that the paperwork only took me 10 minutes to fill out, so I ended up sitting doing nothing for the rest of the 50 minutes.
My meeting with the counselor wasn't bad. I told her the stuff that was bothering me, and she asked a bunch of questions about my parents, and my relationship with food (everyone seems to focus on that), and my relationship with Ken. Didn't get anything really done except more paperwork, but whatever. Called Ken when I finished and he picked me up. He was watching TV with his mum, and I spent a few minutes online again before joining them. We watched some Family Guy, then took his mum to the airport, and stopped by Wendy's for a salad before heading home. I ate some TVP, and retired to our room, but Ken came and got me before too long. He was watching the Olympics, which I could care less about, but of course I wanted to spend time with him, so....we purred on each other's laps until we were both pretty much nodding off. I was ready for sex, but the topic didn't come up. Great cuddling, though.
