Winning Weekends
Jun. 2nd, 2008 05:47 pmWell, win.
Friday - Went into work about a half hour early, like every day this week. Ken stayed home from work, but didn't hook up with anyone. Work was slow, and there was no reason that we couldn't have gotten out early, but for whatever reason, the Jasons just kind of pretended that they didn't notice. I left at 2:30 - fine, don't let us go early, but I'll be damned if I'm going to work an extra half hour when there's nothing to do. Ken had gone out to lunch at about 2:20, but said he'd probably be home before me. No Ken there, and no care package from my PPK swap partner. Rats. I was exhausted, so laid down, but wasn't able to sleep. Ken came home a little after 4 - he'd gone to Level C with Allen, and it just took longer than anticipated. On the plus side, he had my jacket! We were supposed to meet Nikki, Matt, and Brett for happy hour at Universal, but still made time for some rawkin sex before hand. It was missionary - I love me some missionary, but these days, I'm perfectly down with all kinds of sex, even standing (though I still can't top standing), and I wanted to make sure that Ken wasn't bored with it. I mentioned as much to him, which I thought he might interpret as me telling him I wanted different positions. Anyway, drinks and the like were fun, though we might have stayed there too long - Nikki, Daniel , and Brett were there for a while, then Brett got hungry and cold, and Nikki and Daniel tapped out. Matt joined us, as did Brandon and Chris, and we hung out for one more drink. Also chatted with some very nice, and slightly tipsy lesbians. Dish, the restaurant associated with Universal, was having their Dine Out For Life night - ostensibly because they weren't open the first time it happened....I think it had waay more to do with them wanting a DOFL all to themselves. We headed to dinner after that at Tori-Tori. I almost tapped out of that, being so tired and all, but Jason called as we were leaving Universal, and said he'd meet us there. Brandon seemed downright cranky at dinner - admittedly, Matt and Chris were a little tipsy, but still. I was tempted to ask the boys to wait for Jason before ordering, but it was only for an instant before I remembered that he runs on Jason-time. Sure enough, he showed up just as we were finishing. There was enough sushi and the like left over to still make a complete meal for him without us needing to order and wait.....except that then Allen showed up and wanted a full meal of his own, so we all waited while he did that. Anyway, everyone still needed to get ready for the night, so we headed home. Roommate Anthony was home watching SYTYCD, and I made little tipsy has-been/never-been comments about some of the sadder dancers. Jason seemed to not really even want to go, and I had been on the fence all night, but since we're able to get in with no cover, I'd rather go for 10 minutes and decide to go home than stay home and wonder what the club was like. I had a BLAST. Alexander, who so disappointed me last time, did a great job. I even told him so. We danced for a good hour and a half, I danced with Hank, Jonathan, Rick, and a new Jonathan...a little awkward, since Rick and new Jonathan seemed to both be hitting on me. Even knowing that Ken had gone out to hook up the night before (though he was unsuccessful, and therefore didn't say anything about it), I still opted not to go home with new Jonathan. I did tell him my A4A name, but I don't think he heard it. Jason kept suggesting leaving, so I finally declared myself ready at around 12:30 and drove us back. I popped online, and poked about for a bit. I told Ken that I could come pick them (Nikki had rejoined them), and raised an eyebrow when I hadn't heard from them by 2:30....I gave Ken a ring, which he didn't answer. I popped onto A4A, and got messaged by some gents, but just then Ken called - he just hadn't heard his phone. Drove down to pick them up - Allen had joined them, so he played DD for him and Matt...it was going to be an awkward fit, with me, Ken, Nikki, Dallas, Chris and Brandon in Ken's car, but Brandon (who got a DUI about a year ago) was doing the drunk freak-out thing. I'd had my last drink at 10:30, and only had two drinks total, so I was completely sober by that point, but drunks with DUIs don't really listen to that....they had an interesting night full of walking and arguing. It's funny - people have been saying that the two of them were heading for a break-up since I met them. I'm sure people have been saying much the same thing about Ken and me. Tipsy, loving Ken told me what a great night they had, and how I should really go see the next Friday night DJ, etc. etc. I was about ready to pass out, so we eventually went to bed. Couldn't ask for a better night.
Saturday - Woke up fairly early, got ready for the day. Dallas made breakfast voer at his place, but we had to wait for Chris to join us (Brandon was hung over), and for Matt to pick up his sunglasses. Breakfast was almost gone by the time we got there, but there still enough left for everyone. I could've had the cereal, and there were a number of jams I wanted to try, but the bread had honey in it, and if I don't stick with my decision to leave it behind now, I never will. I had chips and Dallas' AWESOME homemade salsa instead. We took a road trip down to Otay Mesa to visit the H&M store down there, and stopped in at the exceptionally small Macy's before-hand. H&M was SUPER busy. I like their clothes, though, and ended up buying a basic black button-down for $10. Chris bought about 10 things, and everyone was disappointed that they didn't have an underwear section. The boys went into a sandle shop, and I ducked into a Bath & Bodyworks type store. I had hoped to find something vanilla, but they were strangely lacking. Came out smelling like coconut instead. Stopped in at Barnes and Noble so Ken could use the loo - I had meant to go to the cookbook section, but ended up in the fantasy/graphic arts section instead. Made a mental note to try to find used copies of the Vampire Hunter D novels. We went to the food court after that for lunch, and then home. Despite having not really done anything but walk around the mall, we were kind of bushed, so laid down for a nap. Ken and I almost had sex, but even though I'd gotten cleaned up that morning, it had been a few hours, so I couldn't guarantee anything, and he wasn't willing to wait. Part of me wants to feel bad about this. The rest of me wants to slap that part of me. When we woke up, we phoned Matt about heading up there, but got no immediate response. Ken kept asking what I wanted to do for the night - I responded that I was open, easy, and threw out a couple options. We putzed around the house for a while - he had chips and salsa and the like, and I had a bowl of oatmedough (my first actual meal all day). Finally Allen texted, and we headed up.
Matt's was fun - I got most people good and drunk playing bartender, Ken spun some great music, including the Basement Jaxx remix of "Cold Shoulder" by Adele, and a good time was had by all. I chatted with Mike, of Mike and Alfred, who informed me that he and Alfred are going to break up soon. Mike is +, and can't take the possibility that he might infect Alfred. We were interrupted by other people, and kept trying to find a place to continue, but I swear people were following us. Other than that, I got too drunk, ate too much (though still not as much as previous times), and checked on Ken often to make sure that he, too was having a good time.
Sunday - I woke up much earlier than Ken, though I stayed snuggling at his behest. Finally, we got up so he could buy Madonna tickets - $384! Just for him! Allen went out for breakfast foods, and we cleaned up the place. Dishes went by super fast, and then I caught up on LJ stuff. Derick broke up with Anthony - sucks. I'm pretty sure I still come out winning the "Who Got Fucked More After The Breakup" game between he and I (not that I play it, of course. Nope. Never.), but that doesn't mean it doesn't suck. I thought about baking cupcakes, or stopping by the La Jolla for some Tim Tams, but neither of those happened. Allen was fairly late coming back from the store, but it was quite worth it. He bought melons and grapes, Wildwood veggie burgers, tofutti cream cheese, and vegan-friendly bread and bagles! Also, bacon and eggs and stuff, but it was nice of him to get the other stuff. I begged off of eating, but Matt made the burgers anyway, so, naturally, I ate them! Matt made his food last, and insisted that everyone else eat before him. He had eggs in a basket, a dish I had completely forgotten about, but want to try a veganized version of one of these days. Fried = yum. Cleaned up breakfast foods while Ken spun some gospel, then things winded down. The boys watched "Virus" on sci-fi, and I looked into the books. There was talk of going to the movies, but they couldn't decide on a single one that they wanted to see. People kept asking what the plan was, so I finally grabbed the movie times, threw out the closest ones, and suggested that people just go to the movies they wanted to see and meet up after. No one said anything about it, just kept asking what the plan was, but they did seem to reluctantly go along with that. They were still watching "virus" when the first movie time came and went, and still just sat there watching tv when I told them that the second movie time was coming up. Ken and I finally just left a little after 4, since I had to get down to rehearsal. We talked a little about weddings - he's mentioned before that he has no interest in one, and would rather just go away with friends for the weekend somewhere. Blah blah blah long and boring. Okay, so have a 10 min. ceremony followed by the reception. blah blah blah long and boring. I want one, and am telling him that without saying as much. I'm not about to have this be something we do "for me", eaither, though. The drive took longer than normal, for some reason, and I had to dash inside to get my new script, so I was a little late. Just before I left, we got onto the conversation of naming traditions - my middle name is my papa's first name, and his middle name is his papa's first name. I don't know if it goes beyond that, since I don't remember my great-grandpa. Anyway, apparently Ken's family has something similar, and he mentioned that it was going to die with him. I mentioned that I sometimes feel guilty about not passing on my papa's genes, and he suggested sperm banks...um, not anymore. Left after that bit of awkwardness. The road to the studio was closed, so parked in the level above and tramped down the hill. Small turnout, but whatev. I hugged Anthony first thing when I got there, which he seemed a little weirded out by, and asked them about the song (which I'd already e-mailed the day before). Aimee hasn't gotten anything from me, which is weird, but Anthony had heard the song and seemed non-plussed. I didn't do very well at my scripts. Ken had gone to see the new Narnia with Dallas, so I had the house to myself for a little while. Showered and the like, browsed the interwebs, cleaned up some porn (it was so bad I actually deleted it!). I figured Ken would be home around 9-9:30, but I wasn't sure if he would want to go out....he didn't, and I found myself a little cranky. Helps that I hadn't eaten since breakfast (though I ate PLENTY the night before). He was very affectionate, though, so I didn't want to ruin things by being me. I downed a shot of vodka before bed, just to take the edge off me, and we settled down to snuggle. Snuggling was awesome, and very quickly turned to sex. We started with me on my side, him missionary (actually my fav position to top in), and ended up him behind me. Good times!
