A rest-full weekend
May. 19th, 2008 08:18 pmFriday - To thank each and every one of us for all of our hard work during tax season, they bought pizza for lunch on Friday. All, that is, except the lactose intolerant or vegan. I was kind of torn - on the one hand, I was kind of dreading eating a whole pizza (or even most of one), for both health and sexual reasons. On the other hand, it's just so nice to be remembered. A lot of my co-workers opted out of the pizza anyway, since it was Sorrentino's, and they just don't like it. One of my co-workers gave me a pop-tart, but it was the glazed kind (gelatin). I was hungry enough that I almost justified in my head just eating the bottom half, that has no glaze on it, but it would've just been rationalization, and I didn't. I did end up eating a TJ's Indian Fare meal - 300 calories, but over half of that from fat. Jeebus. Jason got me out a half hour early, so I drove out to Lakeside to pick up the hair clippers that I got off Freecycle. Damn what a drive. Turns out the clippers don't even have the level 3 hair attachment. Blargh. I'm sure I can either buy just that, or else freecycle it, too. Accidentally napped when I got home (again) but only for a few minutes this time. Napped full on when Ken got home, then woke up and invited people over for dinner and pre-drinks. We got fixins for shrimp tostadas - mostly non-vegan, but that's mostly so I don't eat everything. Brandon, Chris, Nikki, Daniel, and eventually Dallas all joined us, and a good time was had by all. Eventually Nikki and Daniel tapped out, and we brought out the Hello Kitty Shopping Spree Game. Since Rich's was doing Cirque du Paris w/ Nikno, we popped over to Bourbon for a while instead. It was fun - we saw Michael and a couple other folks, including his friend Will who was very very into me and Ken. I spent a lot of time talking to Chris, who was drunk enough to DOMINATE the conversation. I was juuuust tipsy enough to laugh at this instead of be irritated by it. We left there around 1:15, and I thought we were still going to party, so I thought nothing of bolting ahead of everyone a block away from the house. Much to my surprise, only Ken came home, telling me everyone else wondered why I didn't say goodbye, and they thought we were having drama. He seemed mildy upset, and I'm sure if I'd had more to drink, we'd have ended up quarreling, but it was all good.
Saturday - For as early as we went to bed, I was kind of sleepy when we got up. Ken wanted to make sure we were able to take his car in for an oil change before I left for D&D, so we went ahead and did that. Ate breakfast at the Original House of Pancakes - I wasn't hungry, so didn't get anything, and Ken only ate a little under half of his enormous omelette. It was nice to spend time with him, though. After that, we stopped at Target and he picked up a poker kit, and then snagged his car before heading home, and I headed off to D&D. I was absurdly nervous that he was going to hook-up while I was out, the same irrational fear I always have. Not that it doesn't happen, it's just an irrational fear because there's no actual negative consequence from it happening. Game was a lot of fun - we're all playing our characters very effectively, and moving quickly through the adventure. Ken & co were going to leave for Margaret Cho around 6, and I was going to finish game around 4:30, which would have given us a little time together, but game didn't get out until 5, and they were already on their way when I called. In retrospect, I should've asked to just keep playing, but I had a good night by myself. If Ken had hooked up during the day, I've had myself a little fuckfest, but since he didn't, I didn't, in spite of being randy. I know that he wouldn't have hesitated, and I'm sure I'll someday get to that point, but I'm not there yet, so there. Jason called about hanging out, but I kind of just wanted a night alone. Ken got home around 12 - I wanted to go out, but he was tired, so I opted to just go to bed with him.
Sunday - Snuggled a little in bed before getting up to get ready for the trip up to Long Beach Pride. I showered, and this apparently killed the water heater - poor Ken had to shower in the cold! Brandon and Chris tapped out of the trip, which I guess was expected, but Dallas still came with us. We stopped by Armando's (Dallas soon-to-be boyfriend), except that Armando wasn't back from the gym for about 5-10 minutes after we got there. Inside, we had a drink, he and Dallas had sex, and we got to meet the roomies. Between the time we spent there and the stop at the taco shop, we didn't get to the festival until almost 2. Ken had poured some fairly strong drinks at the house, and had me get him another 3. Dallas and Armando were supposed to have two of them, but we couldn't find them until the drinks were almost gone. I had a couple sips, but Ken drank most of them. We danced for a little while in the dance tent, sat on the grass a bit, and ran into Hank and Jonathan. Decided we were done after that, and just waited by the car for Dallas and Armando. On the way, I gave my entrance bracelet to a nice young lady driving by - I should have also sold her Ken's excess drink tickets, but it didn't occur to me until too late to do that. Armando drove us back to his place, and Ken slept on my lap on the way - d'awwwwwww. I drove us home from there, which was a looooong sleepy drive with Ken and Dallas sleeping in the car with me. Finally made it home, Dallas went home, and Ken and I settled in for the night. Jason called about hanging out again, but we were really not fit company. I feel kind of bad - I'd have been down to hang out for a little while, I just wasn't in the mood to have him over until I had to kick him out. Ken ate a salad for dinner and watched some of The DaVinci code - watched about 3 minutes and retired to our room. I also showered off in the cold cold water, and got ready for bed. Ken had porn playing when I got out, and we had pretty rockin' sex - I rode him, which I'd been wanting to do for days, and he came from that, which is always super complimentary. My shot was not so impressive, but I had a great time. He'd bought a new fan on Saturday, and it worked beautifully - instead of laying in bed sweltering, we laid in bed comfortably. Not quite able to snuggle, but still able to touch. Overall, a fantastic weekend.
