A Mostly Restful Weekend
May. 12th, 2008 07:55 pmDamn. I'm getting sloppy.
Thursday - Che Cafe was doing Thai Curry and Spring Rolls for the AYCE...I didn't expect him to take me up on it, but I invited Ken to eat there with me. I figured, since he was working until 5, that I could go volunteer at the kitchen there, and he'd get there just in time to eat. He declined, so I just headed home instead. I was hoping for sex between him getting home and poker, but he called from Washington to tell me that Dallas was coming over for Thai food beforehand. On the plus side, he ordered one of the two dishes they got with tofu, so I could have some. :-) Paul called shortly after they left, inviting me to a house party out in Point Loma for up and coming businesses.....I thought about it, but declined. The way he asked seemed a little formal - almost like a date. I'm not being wooed. Especially not by a bottom. Ken came home after the first game, and rather unceremoniously went to bed. Blah.
Friday - Similar situation to last week, but I only got out 45 min early. Early is still early, though. I cleaned up my inbox, waited for Ken to come home. Matthew invited us to Mo's with him, so we stopped in there for a drink. Ken's card wasn't working, so I paid for parking. Half way through my first drink, Ken looks pointedly at it, and comments on how quickly I'm drinking it. 2/3 of the way down, I made some joke about needing a drink, and he responded "No, you don't." He apparently meant something other than that, but whatever. We had some terse words on the way home, but made up enough to have sex and settle in for a nap by the time we got home. Sex was good - as always, a less than perfect record last time means I'll be paranoid for the next few times. We might have slept a little bit too long, as we were both a little groggy when we got up, but we finally got our motors going again. Chris and Brandon met us, and the four of us headed down to Bennigan's for dinner. An unusually straight selection, but I'd found out through random internet surfing a while back that they have a vegan option, so I was fine. Speaking of fine, I was just crazy about our waiter. He had that teddy bear look that I apparently go for. We still didn't know what to do with our night at that point, so we ended up going to Bourbon for a bit. Jason joined us, and bought me a drink to cover the minimum for using a credit card, but left shortly after. I also saw one half of the couple that hit on me at Rich's a few weeks back, but it was the less attractive of the two, so I left it at that. We didn't stay much longer than Jason, and decided to see what was going on at The Flame....I opted to play taxi driver rather than pay for cover and a taxi, and it turned out to be the right decision. They didn't stay there long, and ended up at Rich's, even though it hip-hop/top 40. I picked them up from there, drove Chris and Brandon home, and listened to cranky Ken as we went to bed. Not a bad night, all in all.
Saturday - Lazed in bed for a little longer than anticipated, but not so long as the last time. This suited me fine, as I only had a couple errands to run before going to game, and Ken was planning on finishing work before me anyway. I picked up the fliers to be posted for the Positive Living course, except that there was no tape, and tried to mail my PPK care package, except that the Postal Palace doesn't ship UPS internationally. Game was fun - I really like playing my Dragonfire Adept. Ken finished work, and then went to lunch with Dallas, then finished that and went home. I started to get antsy at that point, but game was almost over anyway, so it wasn't an issue. Ken was napping when I got home, and opted to sleep in the living room while I poked about on the computer. He was in much better spirits when he did get up, and sent texts to a couple friends to see what was up. We waited and waited, but no one got back to us. Went for Taco Bell for dinner, and then watched one of the Alien movies on TV. The movie didn't agree with me, so I laid down for a bit, and poked about on the computer longer. The Taco Bell didn't agree with Ken, so he tapped out of the night. He encouraged me to go out anyway, but I'm just not that sort of boyfriend. Whitney called, and I chatted with her a bit. I'm kind of disappointed that there's no official "Welcome Back Whitney" party or similar. Whatev. Anthony's ex Kevin was in town, so Anthony gave his room up and slept on the couch. With him there, Kevin in his room, and Ken sleeping in our bed, I felt like I was disturbing someone everywhere I went, so I finally just went to bed around 12:30.
Sunday - Matt's friend Nikki was in town, since they're going on a cruise, and he invited us up for a BBQ. We were going to go up early, have some good times, and head back down in time for me to go to rehearsal. We got caught in traffic (HUGE accident) on the way up, which Ken kept apologizing for (he knows I hate traffic). Of course, most of my bad mood was over Brian from Vegas, who is buzzing at the back of my head. I wanted to ask Ken, now that he's doing the honesty thing, if he'd fooled around at all at last year's White Party, but I knew what kind of mood that would put me in, and didn't want to be there and in traffic at the same time. It would be another example of him lying when the truth would do. At any rate, we finally got there, I met the fabulous Nikki, and we had mimosa's on the porch. I felt mine hit me pretty hard, so I just stuck to the one. We really had nothing else about, so went grocery shopping, and before it to an overpriced skater clothing shop called "Active". With a name like that, I had such higher hopes. Bought minimal groceries - strawberries, chicken, potatoes, vodka - and then headed back. Highlight of the trip was Matt taking off his underwear in the car, and then throwing it out the window. He hadn't stopped after one mimosa. Cooking went well, the food was delightful, but I ended up leaving much later than anticipated. Matt and Nikki tried to convince me to stay - they were planning on going to a friend's pool, but I had a commitment to keep. I'd only had 2 drinks, and stopped drinking at 2pm, but I guess I was still buzzed enough that Aimee stopped me in the hallway before rehearsal. I did pushups and crunches and such, and did okay at my parts, but not super. Called Ken, who was just finishing up at the pool, and then waited at home for his call to let me know they were heading back to Matt's. Also chatted with Kevin (Anthony's ex) for a little while. Made the trek back up to Matt's, where the boys were just finishing ordering pizza, and then made a run to the store with Allen to get more mixers. I SHOULD have taken that opprotunity to ask him about his and Matt's rules, but I'm an idiot. I seem to have become a ginormous light weight, so I put less than half a shot in each of my subsequent drinks. We finally bid adieu to everyone a little after 9:30, and I drove us home. Ken warned me to not take any bait he might throw out...I was only partially successful. When discussing the upcoming condo purchase came up, I mentioned that I was hoping to be in a position to buy in when it came time to upgrade. Ken started talking about how he would want it to be equal, and just couldn't fathom giving me part or similar, and I just responded how pleased I was that he knows me well enough to know that I wouldn't be capable of having it any other way. We basically said that back and forth to each other a couple times. Eventually the conversation turned elsewhere, and I was admittedly a little abrasive. Fortunately, Ken was fine, and saved the night. Snuggles abounded.
