Woke up a bit late but still managed to feed the kids and find my keys to leave so Julian could do laundry, and found stellar parking, too! Din was in to work on something for the library, but I didn't see Kathy. She popped in right at 10:30 and gave me my write up. Very fair, all considered, and that's the end of it unless I fuck up more. The check for the OT is also going to be laughably diminutive, but still coming at a very needed time. I looked into cashing out my PTO and there's an actual system emerging for it. When I suggested it to JJD, he mentioned he was written up last week for spacing and accidentally working off the clock. He might swing by for pool time at some point, and I'm going to invite him down for duck and Pupple feeding next time we go. I texted and called Julian to let him know I got to keep my job, offered to go out for dinner or something to celebrate, but didn't hear back.

He was still in his jammies and watching Voyager when I got home so I finally took care of the dishes. Also took out the recycling again. It fills so quickly. He went to smoke and re-check the mail, so I laid with Lady Miss Friday and looked up apps, exercises, and games for couples. I went out for Crystal Light when I heard him come back in and tried to communicate that I was very open to an interactive evening, from making dinner together, to video or board games, to literally just sitting across from one another and going through Getting to Know You questions a la Icebreaker. He acknowledged but didn't reply, so I went back in with Lady Miss Friday and started reading The True Game, another retrieval from that Book Hunt on Facebook. Julian called for me around 8:30 so I joined him watching 30 Rock. We held hands some and while I felt like we need more in the future, it was certainly better than nothing. Neither of us mentioned dinner - I'm not sure if he's still expecting me to order it the way his mom did or just not hungry, but rather than wait or ask myself, I ate some soy curls dusted with TJ's Chile Limon. Not bad, and while I'm definitely not likely to use that one alone again, seasoning blends + soy curls might be that perfect food I've been looking for. Cheap, ridiculously healthy and low calorie (160 calories/cup, less even than that holy grail for omni dieters: chicken), and delicious, since you're pretty much just tasting the seasoning. I can and have done the same with sauces, I'm just prone to underestimate the calories they add to the total.
