Fed the kids, got Julian out with his coffee on time. Jumped into work but took way too long going over the details of a Sade C Anders/UBI for a panel attorney. Still done with everything before I used to start, so I guess it's fine. It being TGIFriday the 13th, I took the plunge and replied to the office-wide email encouraging Teams. I really thought everyone logged in every day and just ignored it. But I also wasn't sure if Lynelle had some master plan for the remote work plan we're trying for involving that first email that I'd fuck up by replying. The need to always be right and avoid attacks over hindsight gets pretty crazy. Tim had called last night while I was in the living room, and I mostly prefer to talk on the phone from my desktop these days, so I didn't answer last night. There was an awkward pause while we waited for Dave and Lynelle asked our plans for the weekend - for someone, anyone, to talk. Fear of silence, reportedly. I gave it a couple seconds so I wouldn't be stealing the stage from anyone then launched into a dissertation on our plans. The duck feeding, the effort to engage with Julian in more ways than sharing a couch, confession of the other D&D Group and my excitement to know them as people....I got the most important points out before Dave joined. Just before the meeting, he'd sent a message about claims with metrics for the past 3 years, noting that some have gotten worse and wanting to discuss it at the meeting. We didn't really solve anything because we still needed our individual stats to know where we could improve, but I picked up a bit of shade from Lori and it was amazing.

When Julian came home for lunch we talked about his schedule and apparently some of his hours have been off, but we're not sure how he stays at 40/week that way. I made a second coffee for him and made a sauce for the remainder of the cutlets. It actually covered the taste of them really well. Unfortunately, he also went back to wanting to pay $200/month as his contribution to the household. Said we still don't really know what his average paycheck will be. Even if it was out of frustration with my night job, he paid $600 this month, so for now it's fine. I drank decaf since I figured he'd probably want to stay up, but I also told him I'm happy to take a day off if I need to and he wants to go out on his weekends instead of mine.

Much more focused after lunch and I even used the TDP search in claims! I still felt that terrible hesitation and indecision on which project, and which part of which project, to work on. When Julian got home he told me about the mystery interviews they're all having. It's related to a former employee alleging wage violations. Doesn't really answer what their interviews are about, especially for the employees who weren't there, but there doesn't seem to be any danger for his job. He asked me to pick something on Netflix and I had no clue, but he got excited about Wine Country. I love that movie, so I was totally down. He thought it was a set in Italy, but that was a different movie. Still opted to watch it and even though it was my 3rd or 4th time seeing it, I caught lots of additional details. Really enjoyed it. Julian wanted to stay up all night but didn't really have any suggestions. He went to smoke, ran into Terry, and spent a while hanging there. I waited for a while but a little after midnight, I laid down on the couch - just for my back, of course. Julian woke me at 12:30. He was having a great time with Terry, but since I didn't have caffeine pills or cocaine, I didn't think I could get on their level so just crashed instead.
