Forgot my mask but lucked out for parking. Julian has a tendency to sleep and stay up late. I need a good reason for the latter and the former is just beyond me. I cleaned out the cat boxes like usual, but I also gave Juno his shot. That being the sort of thing you don't want to double up on, I wrote a note for Julian. I thought about adding some affection to the tone, but I hesitated too long, given that I was already writing. I forgot my mask but got decent parking. Quiet day, and I discovered my palate is basic enough I can eat Splenda-crusted plain oatmeal and be just as happy as if it were cake. That's a pretty big win, tbh. I ended up staying a bit late on the phone with Beneflex. The debit card wouldn't work via Venmo, I called all over and found out Venmo changed their address or something, so they need to re-register. As much as I like getting my 1% back from my credit card, not having to jump through the hoops getting the EOB is worth it. Especially given the difficulties with getting paid she's had. It's extremely frustrating that she can't or won't let me take over.

I remembered to stop by the store on the way home but I couldn't think of anything to get but bags. They only had two sets ($4/80 bags ea), so that's what I bought. I spent far too long wandering around thinking about how to make this the most efficient journey from my cave possible, but the bags were really all I could think of. Rachel was by the pool with Julian when I got home. He'd spent the whole day Doing Stuff. Made a list, organized the top of the book & snack shelf, cleaned out the litter boxes again. I know how important reinforcement is, so I tried to err on the side of demonstrative vs diminutive in showing appreciation. The note from this morning had confused him since he was almost out of needles. I explained we were definitely out of bags (itself a mystery, come to think of it), so I'd bought more, but hadn't bought needles because I had no idea we were running low on those. He sort of got it, but I couldn't tell if he was afflicted with anterograde amnesia or just drunk, because he repeated himself and asked for clarification constantly throughout the night. Just the conversation about the note happened 4-5 times.

I'd been going to hang out by the pool with them, but after catching up briefly, they went to a laundromat. His kids had gone through a lot of fabric with various excretions. I think it would have been easier to use two or three of the machines in the building, but people drinking don't historically listen very well, and Julian has been no exception. I finished up a few To Do's he was in the middle of then spent time with Lady Miss Friday, gave her shoulder rubs, and read more of the old Michael Reeves novel "The Shattered World." I took a couple breaks to update my journal or engage in social media, but spent most of the night in a contented bubble. When Julian got back he realized he'd left the wrapped pen in Rachel's car. Good thing I buy in bulk! Late as it was, he still opted to cook dinner. Bassically a tapas night, he made tater tots, gyoza, and green onion pancakes. It didn't agree with my tummy and I bit my lip something fierce, but that just means less calories. We watched The Sword of Trust but I mostly thought about how much JJD hates Marc Maron and how much I loved one of the mains. Hair, attitude, humor, all great. I'll watch for Jillian Bell in other things, try to see how much of that affection is for the character as written & directed and how much is the actor saturating through. The best, of course, is the synergy from Catwoman. I crashed long before it was over, but I prefer reading synopsis anyway.
