De-Fusion Elusion
Jul. 11th, 2021 03:38 pmMuch better morning, even if I slept too late to make his coffee. But then he came home again after he left. I made his coffee this time, he said the schedule had a clerical error. When he showed me the texts, it sounded a lot more like he'd just misread the schedule. This time I did manage to do the laundry, though one of my blankets didn't make the cut. Tim called and the inevitable topic of Julian's alcoholism came up. I don't really know what to do for him or how to help him. My even having the presence of mind to call 5150 if Julian's alcoholism becomes suicidal is unlikely, and Tim pointed out that at this point, Julian's addiction might be physical. Mine was mostly if not entirely psychological. I've wanted out of my head for decades and I often describe/d myself as an addict in search of a drug. It's why I've tried to avoid the more addictive/destructive drugs. I'll call our EAP or do some research or something. Something that still allows for my anti-confrontational tendencies. He also cautioned that Julian's drinking will definitely not help our relationship. There were times during my addiction where he had to calm himself down because he was neither angry nor talking to me, he was talking to & angry at Addict Eric. Aedrict. I finished laundry, washed the dishes, played with the kids on Julian's lunch break. He agreed to swap days with one of his coworkers, so he's working tomorrow instead of Wednesday. Makes no never mind to me, I just need the car on Tuesdays. Since he clocked in an hour early, he expected to get out early, but 3, then 4 pm rolled around and no word. I guess he'd been texting with Terry. Terry's friend was visiting and wanted to Barbeque with a friend who was apparently an escort herself. I wasn't sure why they were telling me but it seemed to be something about just needing a place to put their stuff. They couldn't go into Terry's place for some reason. I couldn't care less about any of this, we had a party to get to. I showered off and got ready, Julian called Verizon about his $400+ bill. He seemed pretty drunk and angry and while I tried to explain things to him when I could, I largely just avoided the storm. Terry's friend was also named Julian and apparently is a computer whiz. He repaired his laptop in my living room. Unfortunately, my Julian and Terry got into a tiff, shouted at each other across the courtyard, then Terry called Julian a raging alcoholic who was going to destroy himself. Pot calling kettle, but...It was really awkward for me & Julian 2, as Terry & Julian both kept trying to enlist us. Julian called his mom but everyone could hear him. I went to give Lady Miss Friday her dinner, laid with her and hoped for the best.
