Campfire Rations
Jun. 13th, 2021 04:38 pmTypical early morning post-booze rise, but I just caught up on some things online and basked in Lady Miss Friday's glow. When both the sun and I got up, I updated my journal until Julian woke up. He was naked and neither of us remembered why. Rachel had messaged and called him and wanted the cats out *now.* After refusing to give them up last night. Amazingly, he consciously decided not to involve me and just asked Terry to help instead. I'm not totally sure what to make of all the near-cataclysms here. I'm not really sure what would have happened to him if we'd stayed separated. Drank himself to death, whether in his mother's house or a gutter I'm not sure. Obviously might still, but at least now he'll have reasons to not drink, whether that's instantly or permanently, it's fine.
After, he left to go complete a trial day interview or something and Tim called. I caught him up on the developments since yesterday, we talked about how to handle privacy with a public journal. I'd just give everyone pseudo names but I might forget them. He also apologized because he'd be late for brunch. Julian had mentioned he might be late or miss brunch, so not a problem. I worked on my journal instead, finally wrote a review for the toy I couldn't get to work, did more research on the live resin carts and the difference, if any, between the ordinary dabbing stuff and the carts. I couldn't really find any, so I considered getting Weed4Less's House live resin concentrate, but that was also $15/g, so there would be no real point in doing that when I could just buy Raw Garden carts for the same price. A commenter said carts were inefficient, but I couldn't find anything that stated they were less potent on a per breath basis, just that you could adjust the potency of concentrate. Presumably by just loading more per vape? Dunno. I worked on listening to and downloading the host of unique tracks I've found on Youtube more. AnyVideo was great, but I learned later that it limits the downloads to 3 min unless you buy the full version for $50. Nah. Found one that charged $20 for the full, but would honestly have been adequate with the Free version. I bought the Platinum Edition to thank them. This is music that I'd never have heard without Youtube or similar, and would have lost if/when it was Hidden or Deleted.
Julian came back later in the afternoon and said his day went great. Today was bassically them asking to watch him "on the job," just before they hired him. And without paying him. If it gets him a great job, whatever. If all this is for naught, I'll be calling the EEOC. And he looked hot AF all cleaned up and professional. He left with Terry again, Patrick messaged me for the SDGMC contact info and I remembered him asking about dance class with me. I gave him the info and got *so* excited about him performing with me...then he told me his friend wants to sing with them. Oh. Cool. Julian called, I asked him to snag some vegan burgers from Ralph's so we could finish the buns. I gave him guidelines on spending, he got some stellar deals. One of them was a little too good, as the Beyond or Impossible he bought only had two burgers. It's worth the extra cost/burger to have stayed home. I'm good. I went out to chat with them again, Julian was anxious about his cats. He hunted down Gizmo and put him outside, and it was fine. Larry's boyfriend was in the pool with some friends, so we chatted a bit, and eventually Julian lost Gizmo. He was just chlling under a welcome mat or something that had flown into the bushes that I'd asked about earlier. Julian put Kujo out as well, but he wasn't having it. I explained to him (a couple times) that his kids will get used to the place in their own time and trying to force it would backfire. Later in the evening, they brought him back because he was telling himself horror stories again.
