Julian had continued texting me the rest of the night, but there was only one bitter one, the rest suggested potential solutions. I think that's progress. One of the solutions included buying an outdoor shelter for them and keeping them as homeless cats, but I'm hoping he understands the danger in that, and that ultimately, doing what's best for the cats is what's right. I got far enough at work that I should be able to get completely on top of things by the end of the day tomorrow, as long as I can stay focused. Kathy requested we have a meeting to talk about the 17a Checklist and we surprisingly had some excellent ideas. In particular, that it feels like the checklist is not as useful as just a guide in the procedure handbook. A flowchart would be fine. And I got to comment about my evolution on assigning staff attorneys to retained cases and making entries in CMS so the staff attorneys can bill for them. Din didn't confirm it, but he encouraged the behavior, so...I spent some extended time journaling after work, but still couldn't quite get caught up. It's a process, and the more I remember and get out there now, the easier it will be to fill in holes later. So to speak.

Julian apologized for last night, he watched the Betty Broderick story while I journaled more and drank. There was a slight panic earlier this week because I'd lost my Draft that Dreamwidth saves. The forums suggested using Notepad++, but I don't think that's an online tool, just a program. I used to keep them as email drafts, and I might start doing that. No limit to the number of them I can keep, no risk of losing them. Only real downside is they don't auto-save, AFAIK. But I could just as easily do that on DW by making each entry Private until I was finished. I also messaged several Rescue organizations about trying to find a foster situation. Given the chance that the fostering could be just a gateway to rehoming, I'm kind of surprised we're having so much difficulty. We talked more about last night's fight. We both lost our tempers and we should have made use of both moderation tools and communication techniques. We ended up having make-up sex and it was hot AF, if also drunken AF.
