Regrettably Predictable Squall
Jun. 3rd, 2021 05:23 pmI had some trouble focusing in the morning. Didn't even manage to steal mail from Lynelle, who was scheduled to cover for Kathy. Ew. Part of that was honestly just that I was also trying to finish adding my Liked videos to my Queue playlist so I could download them and keep them safe from Deletion or Privatisation. Julian started whining at exactly 4 pm. What, do I have to spend every second of my life with you? Gawd, get a puppy. In fairness to him, updating my journal went on until 6 pm, largely due again to trying to figure out my music. I was going to take extra time to update for today but there really wasn't much to say. Worked. Very exciting. He called his mom and asked me for $12/day to make driving my car legal. I had no idea what he was talking about and questioning just led to him repeating that he needed $12/day. I obviously did not, he added my car to a policy of his own, but it was going to cost over $80/mo. I called USAA and added him to my policy for $30/mo. He said he'd pay for it and he can't get hired soon enough. I was typical me on the phone with the nice lady, despite Julian's constant complaining, but it also turned out they never cancelled the renter's policy. She credited the account back for 6 months, but couldn't do any more. I didn't push it, just dug my way through the website to send a message. He got an interview at Enterprise, and I mentioned how impressed I was that the charge from them had been Pending at about $45. Checked back in and the total that went through was over $1700. I'll have to investigate that one as well. He kept talking about how we needed to do wash. In addition to the blankets and such with Lady Miss Friday's hairballs, his cats had pissed on Rachel's welcome mat. I remembered his awe that they'd been so well behaved this entire time, and it was only now that they were acting up. And I remembered his dad saying that his cats wouldn't use the litter boxes at home because he never cleaned them. The usual increasingly fantastical excuses ensued when I pointed that out. I'm not going to go there to double check.
We had a few drinks on the couch and he mentioned he was hungry. It took some work to get him to decide what he wanted but he finally settled on burgers. We were going to order them from Plant Power, but they only used Uber Eats, and I remembered FHA driving for them, so figured I'd give him the business if he wanted it. I had a couple things I needed at the store, so I finally just said I'd walk over and snag some veggie burgers. My hair was kind of a mess so I wore my Fox hat. It was a really fun trip. He wanted a more fun side dish and opted for sweet potato fries. We baked everything, even the burgers, but once they were done I didn't feel like eating much, so I just had some fries. He complained about the fries even though he selected them. Julian hadn't heard anything from Sean and I cautioned him to at least wait for tomorrow before jumping off the deep end. He couldn't hear me from his cannonball. And since he's going on Sunday, it really should matter even less. He threw a fit. I threw my ring. Not really, I just removed it and put it on the table. We were drinking, but this is why we're setting moderation rules for ourselves on Sunday.
