Fabulous Friday!
Feb. 23rd, 2008 07:20 pmWork was work. There was mention of getting out early, but we had tons of late priorites, so that didn't happen. For my part, I got done with the fuckton of splits, the regular mail, the stuff I had pulled to RC from the morning, and picked up more to help out with the afternoon work. E-mailed ken a little back and forth, but we were still in that weird place where he didn't know what to do, and I didn't have any advice. He sent me an e-card, which I didn't read, and several reminders that he loved me (see my earlier thoughts on that) before giving up. I had no problem with this. They got pizza for everyone to thank them for their hard work. Everyone, that is, except those of us on "special diets". Fuckers. I wasn't really terribly upset, as I'm trying to get in shape for the cruise, but the fact that they thought of me, and decided to not include me anyway was kind of insulting.
Ken had mentioned that he would probably work late, so I popped home, got cleaned up, and headed down to the gym. I had meant to work out on the cross-trainer, but I didn't really trust myself to keep my momentum up, and I happened to get there just before spin so.......very much the right decision. I kind of rocked it. The only disappointment was that I left my mp3 player (yes, the one I just got a week prior) on the window-sill, and it was gone when I thought to check for it. Still a fantastic workout. Went home to find Ken sleeping on the couch - he never quite made it to the gym. I putzed around on the computer for a bit, and eventually laid down on the other couch perpendicular to Ken. He got up, decided he was hungry, and contacted Dallas, Matthew, and Brandon about getting together for dinner. They're birds of a feather when it comes to deciding where to eat, but eventually settled on Terra. Having not napped, I was back down from my spin-class high, and made my mood very well known. At first, it was just my lack of conversation that was noted, but then I started talking, and everyone wished I had just stayed quiet. In particular, I had to explain my "It's tough to be bad on a Friday", and did so rather impatiently, and when asked if I was excited about the cruises, I rather flatly stated "no". After dinner, we ran home for some quick cocktails, where Jeff joined us, and then over to Rich's, where Jason also joined us.
The music was pretty decent. Not really consistent until later, but very very fun. Justin cheered me on for some of the deeper songs, which was awesome, and I totally felt like I got a second workout. This was even more awesome, since I hadn't eaten since breakfast. I'm a man on a mission. There was a little awkwardness with drunken Ken, trying to make sure he didn't piss me off by pissing without letting me know or similar. Gayson showed up with Daniel, and we had a decent time dancing with them. Jason didn't stay long - he wasn't really feeling the music. When Justin and Ken tapped out, Jeff, Brandon and I also decided to tap out. Unfortunately, on Ken and Justin's way to say goodbye to people, the overzealous security threw Justin out. Back at home, Justin went home, Brandon rather insistently hit on Jeff, Ken rather insistently hit on Jeff, and I playfully hit on Jeff. Eventually took Jeff over to the Redwing, where his bartender boyfriend was waiting. When I got back, Ken was shirtless on the couch with Brandon, counseling him about getting counseling. Those two make a perfect conversational couple. Brandon is quite fond of inhaling as though he's going to say something, then deciding to hold his tongue. Ken is quite fond of talking. I don't know that the conversation came to a resolution, but Ken and I eventually retired to our room, and left Brandon on the couch. Ken decided he wanted the partyparty, so I hopped onto A4A and invited Chris Mack over. While I was chatting, the conversation somehow turned to the cruise, and Ken got cranky about my ambivalence towards it. He went to sleep in the living room, and I apologized to Chris Mack. Brandon decided he needed to go home, so I drove him there, and talked with him the whole way. Ken was already asleep by the time I got back, but had left a check and a note on the desk. For both our sakes, I'm glad he also left the note. I decided to finally finally finally take my advice, and do what I needed to do for me. I didn't decided on the partyparty, but I felt bad that I had to decline, so I called Chris Mack, and headed over anyway. The sex was okay - I disassociate when I'm fucking anyone but Ken, but it HAD been 6 days, and he was on X (makes it much harder to cum), so I eventually came, went home, showered and went to sleep. Best damn Friday I've had in a while.
