Strange Holiday

I took care of eservice in the morning....and then remembered that Wednesdays are not my day anymore. I've never minded a little extra work. Cleared up some things with a client's trial counsel, too - he'd retained them for the trial, and thought they were going to handle his appeal as well. I didn't know how to correct him, but his trial counsel said they'd contact him. Phew!
Apparently, we went to The Loft after Betty's last night, but no one could tell I was blacked out. Cool? Since Julian had paced himself (mostly by limiting himself to beer, but it still counts), he had to drive. But I was too drunk to even give directions to get us home and ended up directing us to my office instead. I've done worse. I was hungover, but figured Julian would want to go out again, so I did my best to get rid of it. Coffee, vitamins, and hydration...then a little hair of the dog in the afternoon. I thought maybe I could go out, but I didn't want to risk another blackout, and forcing myself to go out felt a little bit like the elder gays who snort coke and whatnot so they can still party. And being Cinco de Mayo, every place would be packed. Sam showed up at 1, thinking that was the time we agreed to for lunch, but I was obviously working. He just took Julian instead.
Julian was going to go out with Nikita in the evening, but there was some confusion. She was at Uptown Tavern and planning for The Loft after. I was going to let him borrow my car, but he had no idea how to get to Uptown or The Loft. I was running out of vodka and Julian out of beer, so I figured I could just pick up booze, show him where Uptown is, and have him drop me off. Nikita & friends opted to go to The Loft immediately, so I just cleared out the back seat of my car and figured we'd just pick them up before dropping me off. They opted to Lyft home after, so I just dropped them all off at The Loft. Always have a plan. Problems just make adjustments to that plan, but they're far easier to solve with a plan than trying to fight the monsters alone.
I spent time with Lady Miss Friday, messaged some with Keagan, and updated my journal. Some. Kevin B. Friended me on FB, noting that we had 150+ Mutuals already. Works for me! And then immediately invited me to a Poolside Happy Hour on Friday. I'd thought about going to the Lips Gospel Brunch with Colleen at some point, and it occurred to me that might make a fun Sunday activity with Julian. And then when I went to the site, I saw it was Mother's Day, as well. Colleen agreed and Tootie snuck us in for the afternoon show, but I still scheduled Colleen to come over around 11-11:30ish. We're doing this to catch up and whatnot, and one rarely catches up much when screaming over fabulous Gospel divas. Then I immediately bought my mom a bracelet with a line out of a Hallmark movie, because I'm hyper-sensitive about her feelings on my friendship with Colleen. Both the ones she's aware of and tells me and the ones she doesn't.
Julian messaged me throughout the night. The bar was as wild as expected, and he had to break up two fights. Glad I stayed home. They went back to Nikita's place after, I tried to sleep. I was unsuccessful, despite melatonin, Seroquel, and even beating off. I couldn't find the OTC sleeping pills or I'd have tossed those in the mix.
