Thursday - Happy V-Day! The flowers I bought Ken arrived much earlier than I was anticipating, but he was the only one in the office that got them, so I was that much happier. I had been going to try to get him some kind of Valentine's themed Skittles and some yellow flowers to go with the blue and green ones I got him, but the rain and traffic was so bad after work that I only managed to stop by CVS, and they didn't have anything but a normal bag of skittles, so I said "Fuck it" and went home. I was in a pretty bad mood to begin with, and the pipes at home were doing that weird thing where they flush themselves out. Ken came home, and we chatted for a few minutes. When he didn't come in with anything, I thought, as I had expected, that he didn't get/do anything. Wrong! He presented me with a lovely gift bag. The card was a squirrel holding a bouquet of roses (now on my desk at work), and inside the bag was a blue mp3 player! <3 I could care less about getting gifts, but the fact that he really put thought into it (blue is my favorite color, I need the mp3 players for the gym). He also made us a WONDERFUL dinner of bowtie pasta with pine nuts, spinach, parsely and sdt, and a side of asparagus. Yum!

I went over to watch the showing of The House later, even though Ken opted to stay in, and had a good time there. Ate waay too much chocolate stuff, but I figured it was V-day, so no harm done. Ken was already asleep by the time I got home, and the room was a little stuffy, so I kept the door open while I got ready for bed. It would have been one of those "perfect ending to a perfect day" sorts of things if I had been ready for sex, but I wasn't. Cuddling was perfect enough.

Friday - Jason M. was out again, as was almost half of our department. I did massive amounts of work, but it wasn't for the carrot that the other Jason dangled, it was just because it was there to do. Before I came in and realized that there were so many people out, I had hoped to be able to go grocery shopping, go to the gym, and maybe take a nap before Jeff's memorial service. One out of three ain't bad. Most of the groceries I picked up were for Nikki's party the next day, which was fairly frustrating because I didn't know what to get, other than cake mix and bagels. I intentionally made the cake mix not vegan. I know this crowd, and no one is really big on sweets, and the last thing I want is to eat a whole cake two weeks before going on the cruise. Arrived at the memorial a little before 4:30, but of course these are actors, so we weren't allowed in until after 5:30. I was expecting the service to run about an hour and a half...they had rented the space until 8, and were apparently determined to make use of it for all of that time. Most people had some pretty funny stories to tell about Jeff. The only people I had trouble standing was one guy who had difficulty speaking English, and even more difficulty landing the plane, and Jeff's ex-girlfriend who's every aspect of her speech (emotion included) was waaaaaay too well rehearsed. Finally got out of there and went home, where Ken and Dallas were already groovin and having a cocktail. Stayed there for a little while, before deciding to run to TJ's after all for soy nuggets and ice cream sammiches. When I got back, the boys had already started making the cake and the spinach artichoke dip. I really wish Ken had let me at least help with the dip. He's made tons of them before, but never vegan versions. He also has less experience with tofu. Anyway, Jason called, and Jeff from Phoenix came by, and we all headed over to Rich's for DJ Alexander. It got pretty busy very very quickly, and we danced for most of the night. I sweated BUCKETS, and ended up having to take my shirt off, and still sweated more buckets. Lost track of Jason, but he had just tapped out. Hank and Jonathan were there, quite drunk, and all up on both of us, as was Rick. It was quite flattering. Ken asked whether I wanted to invite Rick home with us, and I left it up to him. He didn't say anything further, but Rick showed up at home shortly after we arrived. I felt bad, because Jeff was staying there, so we didn't do anything. Just like always, I ended up entertaining people after Ken passed out, but I don't mind at all.

Saturday - woke up early, and was eager to get everything ready for the party, but Ken was very insistent about lazing in bed. I topped him(!), but then we lazed in bed longer, and then jumped on Jeff and lazed there too. Ended up behind schedule, so Jeff and I went to Ralphs for last minute groceries, and Ken stayed home to make sammiches and the like. Making sammiched and the like became apartment seeing with Dallas, so we were even more behind. All of this became moot, as no one showed up until 12:45. Nikki herself until after 1. Despite timing issues, everyone had a wonderful time. We normally have absurdly too much food, and this time we only had a little too much. Everyone decided to go to Flick's after that, though I stayed after to clean up, and promised to catch up with everyone on the way. I stayed a little too long at home, but ran the whole way there, and arrived at exactly the same time. They got me a diet coke, and I drank many many many refills. The place was completely empty when we got there, but quickly became PACKED as some sort of gay flag football league met there. We stayed there for a while, and then people started getting hungry, so we went over to Baja Betty's, where we saw Shawn and I ate a few too many chips. Not too too many, but enough that I didn't feel good about myself. Headed home, where the boys laid down to nap, and I ate too too much food and threw most of it back up. Brushed my teeth, laid down for a nap. We slept for 3 hours, and then I put some coffee on and we slowly woke up while waiting for Matthew to join us. The four of us headed out to Montage, which was a lot of fun. There was a very attractive young man by the name of Sebastian there who spilled someone else's drink on me, and seemed to want to buy me another to make up for it. Ah, but for sobriety. After he left, we finally ended up on the dance floor. Got a decent workout, though intentionally not as much as the night before. The boys on the floor were GORGEOUS, and I didn't want to have to take my shirt off in front of them. Around 1, Ken decided he was drunk enough to bring up something that had been bothering him. I've had his pre-cheat chat up as our desktop image since it happened, and it's been bothering him to the point that he doesn't want to be on the computer anymore. Thankfully, I was sober, so I could keep things on track when he started to get aggravated, as well as try to convince him to have the conversation when he was sober, or at least some place where we didn't have to shout to hear each other. We ended up leaving a little after 2, though Jeff and Matthew stayed. They got home about an hour after us, and I stayed up and chatted with them until about 4:30, then stayed up on my own until about 5-ish. I thought about sleeping on the other couch, and even wrote a note, but Ken woke up when I opened the door, and I opted to sleep next to him instead.

Sunday - Woke up early and snuggled for a bit, which quickly became fucking, before getting up and getting ready to head out to breakfast at LIPS. There were 7 of us: Me, Ken, Jeff, Matthew, Nikki, Nelson and Kenny. The show was AWESOME - special props to Gigi and Kiki. It was too expensive, and I ate too many fries, but I certainly burned a number of calories clapping for the ladies. After the show, Nikki and Matthew tapped out, and we headed down to Bondi, where we were supposed to meet Nelson and Kenny and bask in the afternoon sun. Kenny and Nelson were super late, and the sun was absent as well, so we finished our drink, and headed up to Mo's. I didn't mean to, but I ate some of the garlic chips, and some of Jeff's fries. MUST GET BACK ON TRACK. I had thought that we were going to eat there, then head home for a nap before going to Rich's, but the plan was apparently to just stay out. We saw Brian and Gregg, who I'll forgive for not being more social only because they were both clearly smashed. The music wasn't really very good at Mo's, so we ended up going home and napping anyway. Laid down with Ken, which quickly became fucking again - look at me, topping twice in one day! Didn't sleep as long this time, and took an even longer time to wake back up, but still made it over before 11. Jason joined us before we left, but was pulled aside by the main bouncer before he even got into the club. Apparently, he tried to leave the club with a bottle of water on Friday, and poured it out, which the guard took offense to. We waited for him inside, and then headed inside for the predicatbly disappointing Nikno's set. Jason stewed on that for a while, and wanted to storm out. I hadn't heard what he said, and was rather shocked to find out he was upset with us for not...I don't know..standing up to the guard? He eventually calmed down...the music was not very good, and stopped for about 15 minutes when a fuse or something blew...Ken's tummy decided it was time to go home shortly thereafter, and we headed home. Jeff opted to stay, so we left him, but ran into Justin on the way to the car, so we headed over to his place. The original plan was to listen to music and hang out, but that quickly became watch a movie and hang out. I was going to head home, but they changed the movie, and the focus, so that we were chatting instead of watching. Ken tapped us out around 1:30, and we headed home despite pleas from Justin that we keep him company. Jeff got home just a little after we did, and I stayed up talking with him, then with Jason, until almost 3, when I sent him on his way and headed up to work. While I was getting changed, Ken woke up and pleaded with me to come to bed. When I didn't give in, typical of a child, he got angry with me. Lovely start to the day, that.
