Another Slow Day
Feb. 12th, 2008 08:02 amWell, not really slow. Work was super-duper busy - I ended up staying almost a half-hour late, but felt like a rockstar for getting as much done as I did. I did my push-ups and crunches early, and never ran out of energy (thanks to coffee!). Ken had mentioned that he was working late, so I started laundry, then went to pick up groceries and get quarters. I got tofu and vitamins from TJ's, and tomatoes and quarters from Ralph's. Got home around 5, changed out the laundry, and listened to a couple of messages from Ken on the machine. David had invited him and Dallas to Bourbon, but that wasn't open yet, so they went to #1 on Fifth instead. I called, but was fairly tired from having been going all day on 300 calories, so ended up staying home and finishing laundry, snacking on oranges. Ken called again just as I was starting to fold the laundry, to let me know that Dallas was moving his truck, and they were going to Mo's for dinner. I wasn't terribly hungry, but offered to join them anyway. They came and picked me up just as I was folding the last of the towels, and we headed over to Mo's. Dallas drank, and both he and Ken ordered food. I just had an Emergen-C, and even decided not to snack on Ken's onion rings. I got a little annoyed with Dallas - he can be very talkative at the best of times, and was not letting anyone get a word in edge-wise. I reminded myself that he was on about 4 hrs. sleep, so I let it go. Ken only ate about half of his meal, and then we headed home. He and Dallas sat on the couch and watched TV for a while, and I made a salad and munched on carrots. I also poked about on the PPK (work was so busy that I didn't have a chance to). Ken eventually came to bed, and we chatted a while.
Funny, it's not until now that I remember my penchant for talks after the lights go out. We talked about our respective days, and Ken brought up the cruise. I mentioned that I was much more nervous than excited, which led to my fears about our respective behavior on the boat. I don't understand what allowed him to cheat on me before, so I don't understand what will prevent it in the future. I almost said something about "the time you cheated", but changed it to "the most recent incident". He's promised that he'll never lie to me again - I don't necessarily want to test that yet by asking about times that I think he's lied in the past.
Anyway, the blankets were too warm initially, so I eschewed them for my Ken-blanket until I cooled down enough to sleep. Overall, a productive day, though not as productive as I would have liked.
