First of all, since Valentine's is coming up, I'd like to share my thoughts on that, and get yours. I've gone back and forth over the years on how I feel about it. I used to have serious issues with the commercial aspect of it, thinking that anything I did would just be seen as forced. I've settled on that it's not a holiday for me to feel obligated to do nice things for my man, but instead an opportunity for it.

Amy J. got me thinking about this a while back, when her bf at the time mentioned that he didn't want to be told to buy her flowers on this specific day, that it took away the meaning of when he did it normally. Not one to be fooled Amy's response was to ask how often in the last year he had bought her flowers (since he didn't need to be told to). Um...never?

I don't understand people who get upset that they have to buy flowers or chocolates, or drop a fuckload of money for dinner out - you don't want to do that? No problem. Make dinner at home. Make a mix CD. Bake something or make dinner for them at home. How much you spend has nothing to do with the value of what you give.

Secondly, I'm a muppet!

You Are Animal

A complete lunatic, you're operating on 100% animal instincts.
You thrive on uncontrolled energy, and you're downright scary.
But you sure can beat a good drum.
"Kill! Kill!"

I was really shocked at this result, since I thought for sure, based on the available responses and ones I gave, that I would be Kermit or Fozzie. Whatev.

Last, but not least, I'm attending a service for an acquaintance of mine this Friday. This is very very very unlike me.
