I did some extra last minute cleaning while Tim cooked. He noted that I was exhausted last night, and when I considered it, didn't find that surprising. He suggested I call my mum, but no one answered so I just left a message instead. Sam texted me about an otter lawyer muppet, and I found out he's a Legal Weasel. He joined us for Thanksgiving, and Nicholas also came over. They both arrived around 10, so .. Only two hours early. Both of them will just start talking as if no one else was, so it was fascinating watching them together. Sam was suitably impressed at Houdini's longevity, but also noted how much weight I've gained, and that led to a conversation about our Weight Weaknesses. Mine, obviously, is vodka. Colleen joined us, and Nicholas left before the actual start time. Since Tim had opened a bottle of wine last night, but moved on to the Port, I took over the opened bottle. Somehow, perhaps via weight, or perhaps talking about the apartment, I noted that my addiction cost me roughly 10k, and thought it was somewhat ironic that part of the reason I was so into G was that I could buy it in bulk cheaply, and I lost a bunch of weight on it. Sam commented that 10k is actually very, very cheap for an addiction, so...yay?
I saw on my phone that Julian had called a couple times, so I called him back. His car had broken down and fallen into a ditch, and neither he nor his mother had the money for a tow. It took some wrangling, but I bought him a AAA membership, then paid the extra $75 or whatever it was for same-day service. I've spent more on less. He video called, I paused the conversation as my favorite part of Avicii's "Addicted to You" remix was playing, and there was an awkward pause when he asked who Colleen's identity. Megan also video called Colleen, and it was nice to see her.
I continued drinking, got fairly grumpy over folks RSVPing and flaking, and didn't end up eating much. Apparently I started talking about ending everything, Sam had to nearly force me to take my second anti-depressant, and Tim noted again how surreal it was to watch the pill work in real time.
