Find A Way Around

Since I've had so many nights where I've woken in the middle of the night and needed to measure whether I had enough time for another half pill of sleep or not, I just took 1.5 pills last night instead. I still woke up between 2-4, Lady Miss Friday laid next to me, and I was able to get back to sleep. TAKE THAT.
In scrolling my own FB page, I noticed my balancing act between sharing important (and often unfortunate) news and fun, friendly items was not so balanced. Bren Dunn had posted a meme a while back in the Music Group asking folks to describe themselves in 3 musicians. I shared it to my public page, and it was a wild success. Richard's comment was first, and I found a new artist. Partly because of that, partly just to preemptively take care of every commenter's ego, I ended up posting a reply and at least one link to a song on everyone's post. I take music very, very seriously.
Zipped out on lunch to pick up more almond milk (and vodka), but forgot to snag Splenda. I'll ration. Terry stopped me on the way out, and then again on the way back in, wanting to get together again later. I've got Kate's Trivia at 6, but I agreed to meet him after work. Larry messaged me on FB, waning me that he'd threatened to kill him a few weeks back.
I'd forgotten to call my Mom back last night, so I called her in my last hour of work. Some of it was very good. When telling her about Lady Miss Friday is the most jealous creature I've ever seen, she interrupted me to ask if I had a mirror. HAH! Apparently little Squeak wasn't much different, and would actually push other children (even family) off her lap. MINE. She did start talking some about Colleen, and was on the battlefield, but maintained that I shouldn't be there anymore. She's still going down the rabbit hold one the internet, though, and thought pedophilia was legal in CA. Some connection with my panda hat. I'm still not really sure, tbh.
Tim tagged me in the afternoon, and even requested my broadsword. His friend Linda was ranting about "AB 145," which was for the high speed rail. I figured out she really meant SB 145, which gives judges discretion in sex offender registry if the age difference is less than 10 years. It was a delicate situation, because Linda's profile seemed to be progressive, and she's Tim's friend. I found that line between democracy and ferocity, but before I could set my trap for her, Tim called for everyone to put their weapons away, as Ruth Bader Ginsburg died.
Julian called me from his attic, stoned out of his mind, and wanting a DabTab pen of his own. Never one to be left out of the party, I had my last 400 mg of edibles. He also wanted $1600 for a van, but it gave me echoes of the last few months he was here before and he asked me to pay his rent for him. Thankfully, I had to go for Kate's Trivia Night.
I was actually the first one in for a while, and had a lovely chat with Kate. I told her about Sir Loras and my conclusions there, thanked her for providing analysis on her answers for the post, and eventually enough people joined that we did have our Trivia Night. I was on Marfas' team, but stoned and drinking enough that I wasn't very focused. Or rather, I was, but just on Lady Miss Friday and my new song. Literally dancing in my seat while people talked. During one of the full group meetings, Kate talked some about her platform, and I while I'm happy to endorse someone like her, I finally felt I had enough info to put real thought behind my support.
You might recall that last year, while sitting in my car before a pool party, some part of my brain understood it wasn't going to happen with Justin. I was listening to Somebody Loves You, by Betty Who, and thought of it instead as being about Lady Miss Friday. I suppose it's not terribly surprising that someone with my various issues would have an easier time connecting with love songs when they're to or from animals than people. I did it again with the new song, and my eyes actually teared up.
Tim asked to come over, which I wasn't expecting, but ultimately agreed to. I was pretty squeaked by the time he got there, and I did play the new song for him. Remembering his side comment the other day about the patience needed for my various obsessions, I only played it a few times for him.
