A Social Start
Sep. 5th, 2020 02:33 amI woke up in the middle of the night, and Julian was crashed out on the couch. Kate had messaged earlier about joining the Trivia night, but we obviously didn't make it. I played some video games, beat off, too another sleeping pill. As I fell asleep and the sun came up, I heard Julian stirring.
He was gone with Rachel when I woke up, so despite my back, I cleaned up. Dishes, trash, etc. That was plenty, and I laid back down after. Not that it's been a very crowded visit, but it was actually quite nice to get some alone time.
My mom had left me a message, letting me know she'll be sending my RPG books this week, and that she thought I was not talking to her. I called her and cleared things up, she asked about my birthday, and I generally recounted the visit with Colleen, but put emphasis on what it means for me to take steps off the battlefield. She supports that, and said she never wanted us on the field.
When Julian came back, we sat around the pool for a bit, though he was a bit loud and tipsy. Crashed after that, though he was still cranky when I woke him up to get ready. I thought about cancelling the dinner, but Chris and I have talked about this for so long....
The dinner was one of the better times I can remember having in recent memory. Chris has a very friendly kitty named Roxy, but she doesn't care for dogs, so when Tim brought Pupple over, we pretty much just had to take him back. Julian unlocked his phone for Chris, but then got upset that Chris found his nudes. Chris was actually masterful in handling Julian's temper, and managed to keep things under control. We stayed much longer than I was expecting, and got home a little after 1.
