thepnutgalleryWoke up sometime around 2-3, relaxed to the sound of LMF snoring next to me for a while, but finally did check my phone. My cousin is visiting at the beginning of April, so we're gonna try to meet up. Julian had commented on the post, which is always complicated.
I managed to get back to sleep at some point, only to wake up a couple hours later. I dunno why Doing Anything is so hard these days, but it was a struggle to make myself call AAA and get dressed. Lakeisha, the dispatcher, was lovely, and offered to take my car to a different shop. I stuck with the dealership, on the off hand chance the parts are still under warranty after all. But then I spent the next several hours hearing my dad berating me for making the wrong choice.
I had a friendly chat with the tow guy, then pulled my car into the line at the dealership. The advisor said I should bring it back Monday, which is obviously not an option. But then that I should be okay leaving it there but not having it worked on until Monday. I mean... Again, I don't really have much choice here. He turned me over to Ana, who was super friendly and informed me that I do, in fact, have an extended warranty. I took Lyft home and ended up falling asleep for a bit. I woke up just before Ana called. Turns out my car was out of oil. It has drained so fast and so low, it might have damaged the engine. Fortunately, this is a known issue with 2013 Insights (one I previously tried to fix, but I didn't say anything), so even though it might take a few days, everything will be covered.
A million thoughts sped through me - how lucky it was that I went with them, that this happened now instead of just after the warranty expired.... And how lucky I am to have gotten Ana instead of any of the previous advisors who were all terrible and refused to help me with this issue.
I thought about walking or Lyfting to a bar later, but there's that whole "trying to save money" thing. While scrolling FB, I ran across a noise cancelling dog house. Sent it to Chip and had an oddly endearing text conversation with him.
