Yesterday went swimmingly well. We were going to have some people over for games and dinner - not an official "Game Night", just entertaining. It was going to be Brandon and Chris, though that wasn't guaranteed, so I stopped by Henry's on the way home and picked up some goods for a recipe I wanted to try. They were out of some of the ingredients I wanted, so I picked up some others. Most importantly, they finally had Dulce de Leche So Delicious back in stock! Doesn't taste quite as good as I remember, actually, but whatever. Ken was slightly irritable when he got home, informing me that Chris and Brandon were out for the night, and seemed vaguely annoyed that I wanted to devote valuable brain power to any of the other 15 people I suggested we invite, rather than go to the gym....since, you know, the two are mutually exclusive and all.....

Ken changes before and showers after going to the gym, but I tend to sweat so much on my workouts that this isn't really advisable for his car for me to do, but since my regular workout is already 3 min. longer than his, this means a lot of waiting on his part while I change. He's never expressed any complaints, but I try to be considerate of the situation all the same. I only did 20 min. on level 20 (343 calories), and also got a little bicep curlage in, but ended up finishing even that before Ken, and then he had to wait while I changed anyway....Maybe next time we try 25 min.? I'll get it right. While he waited, he noticed some classes that I'm going to want to take - Zumba, which he'll be out of town for, and a second Cardio Muscle course on Tuesday nights. I'm not expecting a whole lot from the Zumba class, but I'll give it a shot. Even though I didn't get my usual workout, I felt rather super afterwards - to be honest, I was hoping that Ken's workout would have a similar effect on him, and if it didn't, that at least my good mood would rub off. It did! I imagine the former, but I'd be just as happy if it was the latter.

Back at home, I started dinner, and we talked about what to do with our suddenly guestless evening, when who should call but Kenny, who needed to be elsewhere, since he was fighting with Nelson again. Problem solved! Dinner went swimmingly well. I felt like some kind of 50's Super Mom, because I did everything for the whole meal - shopped, cooked, cleaned, put away. Ken offered to help, rather insistently, and I was very careful in my telling him to "no" to make sure to communicate that this was a special, even unique occasion, and he was perfectly welcome to help, or even take charge, most of the time. He and Kenny spent most of the night watching TV and chatting - I stayed in for The Simpsons, but tapped out for D2 after that. Sleep even went well, for the most part - I only got up once due to mouth pain...also ended up eating half the leftovers while I did. Actually, the only less than stellar part about yesterday was that we didn't have sex...sigh.
