The Rare and Elusive "Double-Post"
Oct. 1st, 2007 08:48 amTook the LSAT on Saturday morning. When it started, it was so ridiculously easy that I did a double take. That's what I get for having my first question be Logical Reasoning. Actually, every section went pretty much like that, except for Logic Games. Logic Games whooped me up. The very first one, too. Ended up guessing on just about half of them. I'm pretty sure at this point I'm going to cancel my score and retake in December. It's a tough decision, because nowadays, schools are not supposed to use any but the highest score, so how much does it matter if it shows "Cancelled" versus "low" if they're not supposed to use either? The person I felt really bad for was the girl next to me, who had also been behind me in line - Logic Games were supposed to be her section, and it was the others that she normally had trouble with. In addition to the ones she normally had trouble with, she also got fucked up by the one that fucked me. She ended up leaving the test half-way through section 4, though I still don't know if it was voluntary or not. Guess I'll find out when I see her in December.
After the exam, I went into work to make up hours from Friday, even though I was exhausted. I needen't have bothered, since there was kind of nothing to do, but it made a quiet place to think about things. Stopped by Ralphs & TJ's on my way back, though I didn't buy nearly as much as I thought I was going to - just a box of Count Chocula for Ken, and Vodka of the Gods for me. I could have, and in retrospect should have, napped for about an hour in my car, then gone to the Che Cafe for some free vegan food, but I thought Ken was going to be home sooner than he was, and I wanted to be waiting there for him.
When he finally did get home, I helped him unpack, we had a drink at home, and then went to Bourbon St, where Jason was going to join us, but ended up going home before he got there. On the steps outside of our apartment, we heard some unpleaseantness from our downstairs neighbor and ended up having to call the cops. Went back over to Bourbon for a little while, and then off to Montage. Montage was dead-ish, and Ken didn't like the music, so we just went home. Got a good night's sleep for the first time in days.
Sunday - Woke up, got cleaned up, put on a pot of coffee, and celebrated Ken being home :-) Jyoti-Bihanga was having their AYCE, but I opted not to go. $10 saved, not tempted to attack the buffet, and most importantly, after Saturday, I didn't really feel like I deserved any kind of celebration. Instead, we got fixins for breakfast burritos and had those. I had been going to go to the 11am Cardio Muscle class at Frog's, but things didn't work out, timing-wise. We putzed around for a bit, and then went with Justin to his co-worker's BBQ in Mission Hills.....like I needed another reminder of the kind of money I COULD be earning....it was fun, though. The only vegan things there was the fruit we brought and chips, but I was good and only partook of the fruit. Headed off to rehearsal after that, which went fairly well, all things considered. Got home to an empty house, and called Ken to no response. He was at The Hole, with Justin, and was home shortly thereafter. While I waited, I transferred funds, some of them for the last time, and worked out a bit at home. Tipsy Ken got home, and I picked him up some Thai food for dinner, and we pretty much just played D2 for the rest of the night. I think that, in the future, I'm going to put a 2hr limit on the amount of time he spends on it, because I require a little more from my weekends than all that. I started eating around 9, even though I completely understood that it was only from boredom that I was doing it. I had to keep reminding myself that the stuff I did eat was all healthy, and my calories for the day, were only about 500 before that. It's funny - I really want to get back to my Pride level of in-shape, but all I ever want to do is eat, and not just anything - cookies, cupcakes, pastries, bread pudding. I've been pretty good about not eating these things so far (with the exception of the occaisonal ice cream), but I could definitely do better. I'm hoping that going to the gym more often (which is to say, at all) will not only help curb the cravings, but will also help minimize the effect of giving in to them. Anyway, I started drinking around 9:30, to keep from eating, except that diet and vodka is not the best thing to go to sleep to - ended up getting up about every 2 hrs, either to pee, because I just couldn't sleep, or due to the absurd level of pain in my gums. I can't wait for Thursday, when I get to see my dentist!
