What Does "Veto" Mean To You?
Sep. 14th, 2007 08:35 amMonday - Sick at work. Should probably not have eaten half of the cake I made - thank goodness it was no fat, and low in sugar. Got home after work and ate MORE. Ken's car being wonky - we think it's the timing belt. We made dinner and drinks for the D&D crowd - fun times. Spaghetti did not come out exactly how I wanted it, which is to say, tasty. Ken's drink was really really good, though. D&D was fun, and we talked about Monster Massive. Got home a bit late.
Tuesday - Gums above left molars hurting; not really sure what the problem is. Ken took his car in, used my Precision Tune card. MOST EXPENSIVE OIL CHANGE EVER. Last place evidently stripped his oil pan. Good news is that they think that Monday's wonkiness was just a fluke. Got home and fucked up dinner for two- not too terribly bad, and I think I can fix the recipe for next time. Ken was sleepy, and seemed to want me to nap with him, but I was more interested in sex, so we did that. We were invited out to Mo's with Matthew, but Ken wasn't feeling social, so we stayed in. He played Crack, I got in more studying for the LSAT, which I may or may not be taking Sep. 29th….
Wednesday - Gums on fire, rolling down the road. By the end of the work day, they hurt so bad I'm nauseus. I don't have Dental, but I'm considering going to UCSD free clinic. Gargled with mouthwash - burnt my tongue, but felt SO GOOD on the rest of my mouth. I'm going to get a spice rack one of these days, and while I was shopping for cereal to make bonbons, I also went a bit spice crazy. Unfortunately, when I got out to my car, I discovered that one of my tires had gone flat. There are definitely much worse places to get a flat tire, it just took a while - I'm just glad I didn't also buy the ice cream that day. Ken got home cranky - due to some silly credit flubs, he won't be buying a home until at least January.
Thursday - Gums felt much better in the morning - got steadily worse as the day went on. Management bought bagels for us at work, as well as pizza at lunch. I didn't have pizza, but did have 4 bagels.....not so bad, considering those and a bowl of TVP were all I had for the day.....not good, but not bad. Ken informed me about half-way through the day that he had been having dirty talk with Steve (the guy he fooled around with, but didn't have sex with, and who was subsequently an ass on the Night of Bad First Impressions), and wanted to hook up a 3-way after work. All fine, except that I vetoed him after I met him...Ken mentions that he completely understands, and was just chatting, and the 3-way he mentioned was never meant to be with Steve. Anyway, after work I take a trek down to Discount Tire, except that it's a 2 hr wait, so I go home instead. We pop onto A4A, but of the two guys that message us, Ken had vetoed one and the other, who we also weren't very excited about, goes missing after sending me a message. Ken naps for a little while, and then he goes to poker and I nap for a little while. On waking, I play some Diablo, and have a good conversation with roommate Anthony. Ken comes back from poker with Dallas in tow, and the boys head off to Bourbon St., while I promise to be close behind. I clean myself up, and take a quick jog over. At the bar, Ken sees a boy he likes, so I go get him. Go me! We ended up bringing the guy home, but don't do anything with him, as he's got a boyfriend waiting for him on the east coast, and while he seems amenable to cheating, we are not.
Friday so far - Gums are still in a very large amount of pain. Ken e-mails me that he's trying to hook up a 4-way for after work. Good Idea! One of the guys he's trying to hook up with is Steve. Bad Idea. Currently waiting for him to calm down. He seems to be trying to fight with me, and I'm approaching the situation rationally. Anime makes a good metaphor for arguments - if you're the person yelling, and you get a running/jumping start on your attack, while your opponent calmly waits, you're going to lose.

I have to blog about arguing too. Keep putting it off. But you sort of already heard that story anyway. Sorry about the bonbons and the gums. <3
