Smacking Into Walls
Oct. 6th, 2016 04:20 pmWoke up in the middle of the night after a bunch of odd dreams with my heart racing, couldn't get back to sleep. I'm hesitant to check my phone for the time because blue light and all that, but after laying there for roughly an eternity, I thought maybe I should just get up and go to the gym...it was only 1:30. Fuck? I heard some scratching around in the bushes outside, and went ahead and closed the sliding glass door. It's unlikely that was the cause of the insomnia, but it was a contributor. A screen isn't going to present much of a deterrent for a determined predator, and I'm not going through that again. Still had weird dreams when I finally got back to sleep, but at least I slept the whole time.
Totally out of it at work, had two vats of coffee before noon. I do feel like I'm finally starting to get a little ahead of the current, though. Noel asked me to swim with him at Uptown after work, even though he'd already swam. Seems like a better bet than the gym, though I vacillated. Unfortunately, he also wanted us to get dinner, and to give me a massage, and pick out china patterns. Also, he's the sort of person who doesn't really listen to you talk so much as waits for you to give topics for them to talk, and interrupts you as soon as you do. I banged my fingers against the wall twice, and the tendons in my neck started hurting, but overall the swim itself was really great. 30 laps again, which is better than my weekend.
Tim wanted to come by later with Pupple to also pick up some meds from my friends nearby, but hadn't gotten any phone numbers, so was relying on logging into the FB group chat. Finally did get them set up and crashed.
