Tim messaged me, asking about coming to the Green Party meeting, and brought Pupple with him. He wanted brunch first, but I didn't actually have the waffles I thought I did. We were just a few minutes late to the meeting, because parking is awful on Saturdays. There were just under 30 people there, which is apparently a huge turnout. Everyone is very dedicated, though apparently the Green Party itself is fairly fractured. I don't know how this compares to say, the San Diego Democrats relationship to the Democratic Party on a state or national level. The first few Propositions seemed fairly well researched by their speakers, so I tried to brush up on all my talking points. The guy who was "for" Prop 60 was an exception, not seeming to actually have much of a position on, but making a tepid argument for yes. Then I got up. It's helpful, as always to have an actual member of an affected class there to talk about laws affecting them. Mike declined to continue defending the law, and actually voted against it when that time came, but Little Old Lady Anne picked up the banner. Not only did she pick up the banner, demanding that I look into Weinstein's head for why he does everything he does, but then scoffing because those reasons weren't good enough, she also co-opted the process. After every discussion, people voted on what position Green SD should take - Yes, No, or No Position, and some people abstained. Because the No votes were only a little above all other votes combined with abstentions, apparently we shouldn't take a position. Something tells me that if the Yes vote had been even slightly above, she'd have pushed differently. I'm going to attend every meeting on the subject, and Cecille thanked me for being there. I can see how very differently it would have gone.

I bought waffles and tofu so Tim could have brunch afterall, but my energy and my mood were swiftly fading. I took Pupple out when we got back, then made food. Tim lingered too long, I was snappish, but he finally left. I was supposed to go to an impromptu pool party and game night down in Chula Vista, but ended up flaking. Woody also texted me, and while I texted him back initially, he didn't follow up later and I wasn't sad about it. Couldn't even manage to drink much of the wine I opened.
