Sick Day

Woke up a little after 7, but didn't feel like going in, so I didn't. I couldn't get work email loaded onto my phone, and couldn't log in via my desktop, but I texted John and asked him to send the email for me. Plus our doors were getting painted today, and they were going to need to be open for at least two hours. Taylor Landlord called me, because she'd put notices about the painting and such on the door and I hadn't taken them down. I don't understand people. The notices aren't interfering with anything, they're not in the way of any action I could possibly want to take. But she seemed equally perplexed that I hadn't taken them down. They're door clutter! The only justification was to be out of town. I played on the Nostalgia Machine most of the day, which was fine, although I'm coming to the realization that it might not be so much that video games have left me behind as I've left them behind. Certainly, the new breed of video games, all 3rd person real time and complex button combinations holds approximately zero appeal for me. But even the games I used to love don't have the same level of appeal anymore.

Aaron messaged me in the afternoon, because a group of the dancers and singers were meeting at Amarin, then Flick's. I wasn't gonna, but given that Aaron was leaving the next day, and I hadn't left the house yet.....it was an okay time. The food was fine, though I prefer Plumeria. I limited myself to a single drink at Flick's, and Tim coming over gave me a good excuse to leave. Aaron apparently lost his virginity in Mykonos a few years back, and Joe is very interested doing Kelly Clarkson songs in a SDGMC show. Apparently their "Diva by Diva" show was more singers from the past hundred years than current divas.
