Grabbed my shorts and socks, found close parking. I was better on everything, but the audience was quiet. Times like this, I'm really glad I had Rocky as my first performing experience. It doesn't matter if you have/it sounds like one or one million people in the audience, you give 100%. If the crowd is enthusiastic and giving you energy, you give it right back. If they're quiet, you *make* them feel it. Everything went smashingly except Thriller, but this time not the dancers. For god only knows what reason, the tempo slowed waaaaaaaaaaay down. Like, awkwardly so. I'm guessing that given last night's clusterfuck, they just wanted to give us plenty of time to think about our next move?
The DJ from the famous Padres incident and his girlfriend came up to me after the show, absolutely gushing about how good I was, as did a few other people. No one from work came, and neither did my first grade teacher. Slightly disappointing.
Showered at home then walked over to Brick Bar for the cast party. It was awkward. I guess BB has been getting neighbor noise complaints, but with about 100 people in a small bar, it was crazy hot. And their staff was simply not prepared for us. Waits were very very very long. Aaron gave thank you cards to all his dancers, though I lost it by the end of the night. They showed what will eventually be the DVD, and it was good, except they cut out my entrance for Billie Jean. Grrrrrr. Fortunately, one of Bryce's partners video taped it from the crowd. Had a great time, got hit on a lot, but Ben was *wasted* early on and so I walked him home. During our very brief run, Ben was constantly asking if anyone had any booze, just to take the anxiety off. Then again, he was also constantly cutting his outfits and asking repeatedly if everyone thought they were too slutty. So it could also be a need for attention/lack of social skills.
