I woke up at 2am. I’m a solitary sleeper, for the most part, and this co-habitation is wearing on me. I snuggled up to Ben, tossed and turned, jerked off on the balcony, and finally just got up at 4:30 and read. I read down at Explorer’s, until I saw some early birds walking around outside. Went up to the top floor, and thought I’d watch the sunrise. The sky got very bright, but there was no sign of the sun, and I figured I was in the wrong place to see it. A couple minutes later, a ray of light splashed over my page, and I turned to see the sun just peeking over the horizon. Lovely. Our tour wasn’t until the late afternoon, so I had time to nap while Ben went up and got breakfast. A nice gent woofed at me, explaining that he was mostly a bottom as well, but wanted to extend the compliment anyway. He also offered to play tour guide for us, though he wasn’t getting off work until 11. Ben had an airplane tour scheduled, so we took a shuttle to the shopping center. I remembered that Beth asked for postcards, so I bought a vintage one with surfers and puppy dogs. Kind of perfect, really. We had a lot of time before the second shuttle got there, and walked around the beach. There were roosters, various tchotchke shops around, and a decent waves. We finally did board our flight, and I’ve got to admit it was quite breath taking. Many places on the island were the site of various movies through the years, though mostly Jurassic Park and Six Days, Seven Nights. Our pilot had a dry sense of humor, which I appreciated, and often flew circles around the various sites to make sure both halves of the airplane got to view them. I tipped him $10 when we got back.

Our shuttle driver was nice enough to drop us off right at Duke’s, though he declined a tip. We met Rick, the gent who’d woofed at me earlier, and Ben insisted we get the “signature” drink there. “Signature,” as you’re probably well aware, universally translates to “overpriced and underboozed.” Rick took a pic of me and Ben with our pineapple-encased drinks, and I suppose that was worth the money. We didn’t have long to chat, but we talked about careers and such. Rick’s partner, like the last gent I slept with in Sydney, has simply given up sex, so they have an open relationship. Rick also showed us the gardens and coy ponds at the hotel. It was some of the most amazing hotel décor I’ve ever seen, including Vegas. Rick dropped us back at the boat, and stayed to make out with me. Ben didn’t seem in the least perturbed by this, either enjoying the show, understanding that this is how I work, or both. He mentioned over dinner what a wonderful time he’d had chatting with Ben, and how fantastic it was to be shown the gardens. Go me!
