Ron Weaver, who'd just friended me on FB, was having a Valentine's party. I thought it would be a good excuse to make his acquaintance, even though it did mean missing the SDYP Valentine's party. Brian wanted to go, and even though he was late getting there, and then I had to run to the store to get a bottle of vodka, we were still some of the first people there. Also, it was a dry party. Both Ron and his roommate are in recovery. D'oh!
Only about 10 people showed up overall, and towards the end they wanted to open the bottle I'd placed behind a table. Ron said he had no problem, but there was nothing for me to use as a mixer (no diet soda), and I would have felt weird drinking in a sober person's house, even if he seemed reluctantly ok bowing to peer pressure. I guess a couple of folks snuck in their own booze, and just kept quiet about it. Brian stayed sitting on his phone the whole night, and messaged me once via FB to say he was bored. So..talk to somebody? He didn't want to leave, though, just let me know he was bored.
We left around 10. Brian initially suggested we drink in my apartment, but when I wasn't going to open the bottle I'd bought, just drink my already open vodka, changed his mind. He's an odd bird.
Chip texted, asking if I'd gotten a Valentine's message from Tim, but mentioned that I didn't have to say if I didn't want to. No message from him, no activity on his FB.
