Strangers In Orbit
Jun. 1st, 2012 11:03 pmDid some pushups and crunches at home before leaving for my last day at my temp job. My supervisor's boss finally seemed to warm to me. Tim called me after work; he hadn't gotten a flight the day before, and forgot to let me know. His plane was coming in at midnight tonight, though, and he still needed a ride. He also wanted to talk about his trip, but I cut things off when he started talking about the nice gay couple he met at a coffee shop. Sometimes I'm ready and sometimes I'm not.
I was just killing time in the afternoon when I realized that Alexis had a wine party to attend. Picked up a bottle and headed over. It was a good time, I made at least one new friend, and Alexis informed me that Ken gave him a handjob while we were together. I already knew part of that, but I'm glad people are telling me things.
I meant to go to the gym on the way home, but I just didn't have the energy. Stopped home for a bit before heading off to Bourbon St where Matt was Djing. Given how empty the place always was when Leo DJ'd, and the fact that I hadn't been there in forever, I wasn't expecting it to be as busy as it was. It was a VERY mixed crowd, though. At least 50% straight folk, and probably more. I got to talk with Jason, Daniel, Chris, and Brandon, as well as say hello to a few other folks. Turns out Brandon also knows Aaron Greenburg - I wonder if it's the same way?
Matt's set was really good, and included the Mark Knight remix of "You've Got The Love." Jason mentioned that it sounded like a 90's song...I was delighted to be able to tell him that it was. Not that I was really feeling the partyparty anyway, but Tim finally texted that his plane had landed, so I picked him up. He hugged me in the car, and mentioned several times on the 20 min drive that he missed me and was happy to see me again. He also noted that I didn't return the sentiment. I told him honestly that I'm still struggling with keeping him in my life. Not that removing him would make it any better...thus the struggle. He asked me to spend the night, but I declined on account of the above and the last time he spent the night. He had forgotten his keys at Mark's cousin's house, so had to call a neighbor to let him in. She brought her dog in his adorable vest-harness, I went home.
