Day 2 was a little better. They're nice people running the convention, just horribly unorganized. They didn't know I was coming in today, for example, because when my supervisor told me yesterday to leave, I left. I worked the morning in the book store again, this time with a very nice, but very stupid, girl with bad breath. Eventually, I was transferred to class check-in, which at least wasn't on my feet, and surprise surprise, I was with Arturo! Nina was also working the convention, and offered to take my shift the next day. I figured she needed the hours more than me, and the convention needed someone who could work more hours. I told them as much when I checked out for the day, left my phone number, and said that if I didn't hear from them, I'd be back at 10am the next morning.
On the way home, I ran into an elderly couple visiting from Vancouver. They were trying to navigate San Diego's ridiculous public transit system, and headed the same direction I was. At the last stop, rather than let them walk the 50 min to their hotel, or take what was probably an even longer bus, I just drove them there.
Never heard from the convention folks, but at least I made it back to the gym for a very very short workout. Just had no energy.
