Texted Tim in the morning. He texted me back a couple hours later, joking that the reception in Club SD (local bathhouse that I'm always teasing him about) was terrible. In spite of or because of the jest, I thought he might've been busy with the sorts of activities one does at a bathhouse, and didn't really feel like talking to him. Saved from having to think about it when I got a call from the downtown branch of Office Team. They had an administrative position for a convention open, and needed someone cheerful. That's certainly me. They didn't provide parking, and the pay was $10/hr - I didn't really feel like spending one of my hours pay (at a minimum) on getting to the job, so I took the trolley instead. That might have been a mistake, as it took me an hour in each direction. Really, taking the job at all might have been a mistake, because when I got there it turned out by "administrative position" they really meant "straightening shelves in the bookstore." I would bitch about it being retail, but it wasn't even that - I wasn't trusted with the register, so I was literally just walking around fixing whatever slightly out of place book I happened to see. Blah blah blah grateful to have a job. No. I've been temping steadily since the end of the exam, I spend nothing, now that I'm not loaning friend's money, and I wtf did I just spend 160k on school for if I'm just going to get the same jobs as I would have gotten otherwise?
Tim called in the evening, came over. I gave him the chocolate and pudding from Amsterdam he talked about school. We laid down for a while, me trying to burrow under him, then he went home.
FHA texted that he and the Rocky cast were at Martini's. I was tired, but it takes roughly no energy to sit around and chat. Met more new cast members, got to see Kasey and Jason for the first time in forever, chatted with Chris about the Bar exam. FHA had invited Pete to Chicago on Wednesday, and wanted to know if I would be his back-up. Of course! We talked about Pete - he's hedging, and while wavering is understandable at 19, assurances, reasons, and explanations are required at any age, and there are none forthcoming.
