Coming and Going Around
Jan. 28th, 2021 09:45 pmI had something of a fog all morning, but did finally shake it off and drive into work. I figured out a way I could do some work on my lunch break, and managed to focus in and work straight through the rest of the day.
I saw some commercial on YouTube for Litter Robot, and I was stoned enough to really take notice of the potential of the actors. More the woman than the man, and I sent them an email asking who played her. They said no. I don't get what even happened there. Like... They couldn't give imdb for their own commercial? They don't want their actors to gain fans and popularity? I detest running into gatekeepers.
I was thinking all day about the state of my apartment and how even my version of "clean" is really just "slightly neater hovel." Thought about hiring Kenneth, but then thought it should really go to Tami. She needs it more, and helping her helps Tim, and I still feel like I should try to pay him back for 2019. That concept felt so much more sly and sneaky when I first thought it. Speak of the Devil, and Tim called. Tami broke her leg. Same side as Tim, and also a really bad break. I started to wonder if broken legs are contagious. Not that I have any problem tolerating my hovel, but it did feel a little like the universe was listening.... For the perfect time to fuck us.
On the plus side, Tim mentioned a new tenant at the marina. He made me guess, and as much as I detest gambles with potential Wrongness (almost as much as gatekeepers), I paused, thought, and came up with an educated, if unreasonably hopeful guess. They have a harbor seal hanging around, so I'm gonna visit on Saturday. I was gonna bring fish for them, but since they're just an occasional visitor, how would I even get it to them?
I might be putting too much weight on this, but when Tim asked about The Girls, he just asked if they still had the run of the house. No disapproval. No judgement. I will still lock down Mouse Kingdom eventually. Most of the time. But just knowing it's not going to be...a thing meant a lot.
