Gift of Restraint
Jan. 27th, 2021 09:05 pmIn spite of the new computer, I had a number of technical difficulties trying to get the eservice done, but as before, Carl had already done a bunch of it in advance. I thought we had our weekly meeting, so I cleaned up some, made my bed, etc. It turned out it wasn't until Friday, but if an error gets me to clean.... And I was prepared when Lady Miss Friday wanted blanket time. I just folded a cubby in the blanket for her to sleep under, and she did just that. I could hear her snoring all day from under the blankets. 🥰
Since I'd opted to wait, I posted the new Lulu James track to the Music Group, and managed to cover both some analysis on the song and my gratitude to the group.
I got an update from UPS that my soy curls would be here on Friday instead of Thursday. I've rationed on a lot less, so I'm sure I can make it. I also had a few drinks with the whiskey left from Jason's visit. Amazingly, I actually shut myself off. I got up to pour another, but opted to wait indefinitely and just poured a mixer instead.
Sebastian, one of my friends in recovery, had gone missing for a bit, and when he updated, explained that one of the recent crises had caused him to relapse. Bad. Lost his job, spent some time in the hospital, etc. He mentioned he looked forward to visiting folks once everything calms down, I offered my place and we chatted some. It was a little awkward having a drunken conversation with a friend who just relapsed, and of course I thought more about... All of it. Everything I'd lost from my addiction, how much worse it could have been, and how much I expect me to do to... Make up for it. These are new waters. We'll see.
