Responsibilities
Jun. 1st, 2020 05:01 pmWoke up crazy early. I was a little sweaty and gross, but used the extra time to pay attention to Lady Miss Friday. Not that it did much good to keep her from complaining I wasn't petting her during the day. I've lost both my 510 and my DabTab, but smoked my Plug while I worked. I actually found it took off some of my more upsetting edges. I was more focused on work and about a bajillion times less terrified to ask someone for or to do something. While I worked, I took the only MCLE course I could find on PLI, and actually did find it interesting. The very last segment was about mental health and substance abuse, and presented by an endearing, hilarious woman named Trisha Rich.
After work, I should have cleaned more, but instead found a moment to focus some of the outside thoughts I've run across. I've been reacting a lot online, as opposed to positing anything on my own. In particular, someone on a thread I happened on noted that only left wing protests turn into riots, not right wing ones. I looked into it. He's right, but 1) the vast majority of political violence is from the right wing, sports rioters tend to be right wing, and it turns out you're more likely to go from protesting to rioting if you've witnessed or been a victim of police brutality.
Megan had posted something for BLM, but also...down. I'm sensitive to that, so I shared Christina's Heaven Sent metaphor with her.
