Fourth of July, FWIW.

Saturday July 5– Got up, took Cisco out, made some coffee, headed over to Jack & Scott's. Unfortunately, there wasn't much to be done. Cisco got along swimmingly with the other dogs, and other folks showed up slowly. Ken found himself in love with Boom Blox, and we all munched on guac & chips & nuts & other snacks. When the food finally was served, we had way too much, but I did a decent job of not eating absolutely everything.. We got in the pool briefly around 3 – I'd left my Red, White, & Blue shorts at home, but was feeling too fat to wear them anyway. We were supposed to be at Glenn's party around 4, but Ken had a very “well, we don't NEED to be there RIGHT AT 4” attitude.....this extended to a “we don't NEED to be anywhere” until around 8 or so...fortunately, I was able to largely keep occupied by cleaning up and poking about on Scott's computer. I played a game of Mario Party 8, and another game of Boom Blox, but swiftly tapped out. We we finally did leave, dropped Cisco off at home, then headed back up to Sean's BBQ. His party was, if not dying down, then transitioning to something much quieter, and everyone there was already chemically altered, so we didn't stay long. Ken joked about not needing to go to Glenn's at all, because everyone would be so drunk they wouldn't remember, and we could just tell them later that we were there. Er....no. He mentioned he'd been avoiding going to it, and I got a little upset, because I'd been looking forward to going, and would have had no problems taking separate cars to Scott & Jack's. Finally made our way over, where there was some kind of drama over some head injuries. Crazy. Saw Chris, Daniel, Jane, and an unusually friendly Rick Stoermann, but Justin warned that there were ambulances on the way, so we headed out. I didn't have a bad day, but I didn't want to spend as much time as we did at Jack & Scott's. I was just expecting more from my 4th.
