You Don't Understand - I'm Sooooo Drunk!
Mar. 28th, 2009 09:25 pmFriday – Took Cisco out, then headed down to school for the double-length Property tutoring. Ramona was a little late, having brought bagels for all of us. I didn't commit to having them or not, so when the plate was passed around with the lower/smaller half of a chocolate chip bagel came around, I didn't feel bad about eating it. I got called on in Torts, which I knew was coming at some point. Thank goodness I had notes. I talked to Nicole after class, talking about the pics I had done and the like, and she mentioned that the company she worked for was looking for people. Sent them an e-mail, and finally got around to scheduling my conference with Cato, but fortunately did not go up to Nature's Express. Smythe passed out a practice exam for his class, and I spent most of my time updating my journal. Stayed updating for a little while after, then finally headed home. This time I did stop at Nature's Express, intending to get more sauces for dipping, but I ended up talking to the girl behind the counter. She's nice, she just seems a little practiced at being nice. Ken was there when I got there, of course. We'd been invited to drinks at Martini's at 7:30-8-ish, and to dinner at Kemo Sabe at 6:30, but we had board games at 6:30, which he didn't want to go to. I drove him over to the bridge, and walked over to Trader Joe's for snacks to bring – Soy Nuggets and peppermint Joe-Joes. I thought it was contribution enough. I had, unfortunately, forgotten the address, so I stopped home before driving over. I got there 5 min late, which I hated, but was still there about a half hour before anyone else. Loc, the next gent to arrive, had brought pita, hummus, and some non-vegan cookies. Wyatt and Spencer showed up last, and we played Munchkin. I ended up winning! I'm not really sure how that happened, but whatever. I ate maybe 3 cookies, some hummus and pita, and some nuggets, which everyone agreed were not anything like chicken, but were also quite good. It was later than I had thought, so I called Ken on my way back. He was still at Martini's, but was just going to meet me at Universal. I stopped home, and got a call from Ken just as I parked. They were still on their last drink, but they wanted to come home before going over, so I was going to wait and we'd all head over together. I had a couple drinks at home, talked to a couple boys on Adam, including a lawyer with poetry posted on his profile, and the ever-insistent Candelario. It got to be about 10:20, so I started jogging over. Ran into Justin just outside, who had driven over. I put Ken's leftovers in the fridge (he got the Good Things Growing made vegan!), then drove us over to the bridge. He was a little tipsy, and encouraged me to run ahead, so I did. There was a bit of a line, and the front guy initially sent me in, only to have me sent out again for the guest list. Whatever. Saw Hank and Jonathan inside, as well as Brian Wood. There was a shorter latin gentleman by the name of Artur that was hitting on me, and I explained that I was waiting for Ken, but he was welcome to come home with us later. Justin bought me a drink, and then I went over to Rich's to get my hand stamped. I still hadn't heard from Ken, which was upsetting, but only in the lack of courtesy. When I got back from Rich's, I noticed a gorgeous black man dancing on one of the go-go boxes – who should it be but Mr. G. Madison from APA! We danced together for a moment, then I went outside to find Justin again. He bought me another drink, and then Ken, Eric, Kim and April were there. We walked around the corner and saw Disco Dolly, rocking the drag as usual. It was Pink night, so he dressed as Pink. There was another queen there with him, with impressive make-up, but not anywhere near as much attitude. The music was surprisingly not horrible, and we stayed longer than I thought we were going to, but we eventually headed over to Rich's. I gave Ken my card for discounted entry, and I guess Eric did as well and was upset about the double jeopardy until I pointed out that it was $2 off. Inside, we danced a bunch more. Kim is a fun girl. Her and April had to tap out a little after midnight, and we tapped out not long after. Again, the music was not horrible, so I was a little sad. Ken mentioned that he was veryveryvery drunk, so I took him home. Not a phenomenal night, but not a bad one by any stretch, and at least we didn't fight.
