Swimmin' With Wyatt

Tuesday, March 3 – We had no Contracts, so I headed up to Ranch 99 on the break. I was supposed to meet Wyatt for swimming at 4:30, and he called at 3:30 to make sure we were still on. I tried to convince him to go early, but he had prior plans. I was going to just nap from 2:30-3, but I ended up in one of those slumbers that you have to swim up out of.. I had a crazy dream, that we went out to Rich's with Wyatt, and passed by this weird Mexican food vendor that had crazy vertical pans hanging on a sheet of fabric, and seemed to be immune to gravity. Saw Wyatt inside, as well as Sean (yes, that Sean), and several other gents that bore superficial resemblance to him. Also, in the dream, everything kept closing. Rich's closed, and some nightclub next door closed. Urban decay = not happy. I thought for sure I had missed Wyatt, but it was just 4 when I woke up. Got over to Wyatt's at about 4:16, but he wasn't there. Fortunately, he called at 4:28, to let me know he was a couple blocks away. We got to the pool around 4:40 or so. Wyatt had to run back to my car, since he'd forgotten his money therein, so I started swimming without him. Even though I only went swimming twice, and it was about 3 weeks ago, I've still come leaps and bounds since then. I had a GREAT swim – somewhere around 1,100 yards. Poor Wyatt – since it was his first time swimming laps in such a long time (he also did a little swim team in high school), his stamina wasn't where he remembered. He commented on my back muscles while we rinsed off, and while I appreciate it, and the honesty that I'm used to from him, I know I'm in pretty bad shape right now. Just makes me want to work harder. Dropped him off, then headed home. Ken wasn't home when I got there, but had called at 5:30 to let me know he and Leo were at Betty's. I called back, but it was a little after 6, and they were on their way home. I got cleaned up, but didn't shower like I should have. Ken'd had some chips and Baja fries at Betty's, but was still planning on having dinner when he got home, and finally decided on bran dough with green beans, but didn't want to make a carb with it. I made a sauce, but I was planning on it cooking long enough to cook off, which we didn't do. It was okay anyway, and we saved the remainder of the sauce. Watched American Idol. I have a list of people that I want to go through, a list of those I think should go through, and Ken and Leo informed me of the ones who actually will. I also tried to work on my appellate brief, but got nowhere fast. Urgh.
