Bouncing around.
Jan. 31st, 2007 10:14 pmI had my career counseling session a few weeks back, which was pretty helpful, though not the magic bullet I was looking for. It focused on my personality type, and the sort of work I'd like to do, as opposed to a field of study that interests me. Unfortunately, none of the jobs listed really jumped out at me, except judge, which is swell, except that it requires you to be a lawyer first. Still thinking about it, I don't think I have anything against law school and lawyering, especially since I'm in mostly the same boat as any other college graduate. Law schools don't specify the degree needed to get in, just that you have one and take the LSAT. If I do really well on the LSAT, I should be able to get a scholarship (full or partial) to a smaller school, which would be awesome. I'm real big on potential careers that wouldn't signify a waste of the 4 years I already spent in school. Reading more on a career in Law on Wikipedia, the skills needed and the type of work seems quite appealing to me. I've been looking for a career with social and analysis skills, and it doesn't seem to get more analytical than law. It would be a prestigious enough career to satisfy my dad's voice in my head, I think I'd enjoy my workday, and I could move on up to Judge, eventually. Having learned my lesson when I was considering med school, I will not so much as mention this to my parents until I am actually accepted to a school. Like everything else, it still qualifies under the heading of "not-dancing", but it seems to be the best option within that category.
There was a whole section in here on relationships, but we'll wait until some of the dust settles on some of them for that.
