Wednesday - Showed up barely in time for class, only to have all of 5 more students show up. Turns out it was a reading day. Blah. If we didn't have tutoring in the afternoon, I'd have just gone home. Read a couple people's status about being happy about Obama, and pissed about Prop. 8. Having heard "landslide" whispered for several weeks, I wasn't really that shocked about Obama, and only had room in my head for disappointment and betrayal over Prop. 8. Stupid Mike from Facebook posted "THE POPLE HAVE SPOKEN." I was mean. He was dumb. Basically the same pattern we've been going through for weeks. After school, Ken and I headed out to east county to look at some furniture. On the way, we talked more about his desire to take a trip to Mass. He wants to go there, partially as a "fuck you" to the statute, and partially to have some legal protection. I told him that, though I felt the same way, I recognized that a more practical route to legal protection would be the Civil Union. Left the matter unsettled, but I don't think we'll be taking the trip. None of the furniture was suitable, so we stopped by IKEA on the way back - we were just supposed to stop in real quick and look, and ended up buying a TV stand, coffee table, kitchen jars, and a couple other things. I did manage to persuade him to wait on a bookcase - $100 is just too much for it. Back home, I made us dinner and Ken put the new furniture together. Mmmmm....veggie burgers.....they don't make things better, but they do taste good. Also, we finally christened the new place. It seems a poor act of defiance, but it definitely seemed that.
