Moving Day
Nov. 2nd, 2008 05:09 pmSaturday - Woke up early, Ken left to get breakfast, and I did some research. He came back with oatmeal for us, and mini-muffins for the helpers. We ate, then loaded up our cars and started taking things over again. We got a couple loads in before Nelson joined us with his sister's enormous truck, and a couple more before Kenny joined us with his jeep. Jason biked over, and rode in my car to take stuff over. The actual moving itself went remarkable quickly - done by about 11:30. We started unpacking and putting things back together after that. He had me run over and pick up a sammich at Quizno's...he intended to get me one as well, but I saw no reason to spend his money on a sub-par, expensive sammich. I ate some crackers while I was at the store, and got some pickles for the walk back. He mentioned going to Target, but I had rehearsal. Rehearsal went well - it's the same stuff as last year, so I remember all of it. The only awkward part was when some girls, possibly just daring each other, yelled "Yes on Prop 8!" Tempted to take matters into my own hands, but I just talked to Mia afterwords. Ken was just leaving Target as I was leaving rehearsal, which I found surprising, and got home just seconds after. He'd pretty much bought all of Target - $652, but had $70 in gift cards. More unpacking. A lot of the stuff he'd bought I could have obtained from Freecycle, but he wanted new stuff for the condo. Dallas stuck around and helped with stuff, and Ken bought dinner from Viva Pasta. I declined - for a serving of pasta, I can just make my own. I did just that, the boys ate, and then wanted to go out. We headed over to the No On 8 Rally on University, though they were out of candles. I saw Jeff there, with a friend of his, and also saw Brett and Jason. We ended up at Betty's, where the boys got cocktails. Saw Michael, of Jean and Michael there, as well as Tim and Michael. The latter Michael gave me some kind of knowing look, but also said he didn't really remember being at Rich's. Michael of J&M asked about the cruise, and my tongue failed me before I could explain that the damage done was simply that Ken wanted to go without me, so whether or not he actually did was incidental. We spent a little longer there, and then Ken wanted to go out to a club or similar, but had no cash, and his bank had shut him off for the day for spending so much at Target. For some reason, he didn't want to borrow money from me, either, so we just went home after that. No sex.
