Friday - The UCC is starting to make sense. Starting. I was going to volunteer to read the case in CivPro, ironically because I wasn't that comfortable with it, but he called on someone else. Ah, well. When it finally was explained, I got it, even though I gained no new insights on the case. Bah. I had kind of hoped to go to the Vegan Halloween Party...kind of. There would have been lots of yummy food there, but they wanted $5, for you to bring a dish and a bottle of booze. Gas alone would have been another $3. Even with all that, I would probably still have gone, but I know me around food, and really didn't feel like throwing up. Still very tempting, of course. Not so for Ken, who'd had a potluck that day at work, and was waiting for the keys to the new place. He got a call from Dennis, wondering about the vacation plans for next year. I started on my research assignment, since I wasn't sure if the new place would have internet, but Ken recruited me for packing instead. We didn't get the call about the keys until a little after 9, so Justin joined us and we walked over to Cafe Eleven where Nelson was having dinner. We went past Nightmare on Normal on the way - they would play some awesome dance song, then something cheesy like Monster Mash...weird. Saw Michael et al waiting in line as white glittered cowboys. At the Cafe, Justin got some food, and we all had a drink, then walked home and started moving. I had just been expecting to pick up the keys and go, but I settled down once Justin bought me a drink. While there, Justin talked about next year's Cancun trip, and Ken was very vague. On the way home, Ken finally asked in person if it was alright that he took the Cancun trip without me. We had a loooong talk about it. I paraphrased his position (You know what, that sounds like a much better idea than another cruise - I'm going to do that, since you can't), which he disagreed with, saying that it was just about finding a cheap vacation he could get while Dennis was free. Fine, take a straight cruise. No? Shocked. I also mentioned that I was really hurt that he initially approached me from a perspective where the priority was diong something with me, since I had that time off, and that seemed to go away very quickly. He kept trying to say that I "didn't want to go", and I kept correcting him that there is a HUGE difference between wanting and being reasonably able to afford. He's not going. Spent the rest of the night moving boxes over and setting up the kitchen. We thought about going out, but every place had a steep cover charge. Ended up just going to sleep - no sex.
