Che Cafe Re-opens!
Oct. 15th, 2008 08:14 pmTuesday - I was ridiculously sick when I woke up, and very nearly didn't go to class. Our rough draft is due on Monday, so I figured we'd get our thesis and umbrella rules back, with critiques, do even though I felt like laying in bed and dying Silly Squeak. I did take some valuable feedback that we shouldn't ping-pong between our case and the ones we're citing. Pride Law had a lunchtime meeting...I almost slept through it, but Trenton had mentioned there would be a vegan option, and Pride Law is my single highest priority. For the first time, I wasn't let down. Yay! After the meeting, I decided to attend the Crim Law class just before us, and I think it's a habit I'm going to keep. The biggest thing I learned was that he HATES them. It does make things slightly awkward, though, since I don't feel like I should raise my hand in the class before us, since I'm not in the class. In our class, though, I already know the answers, so I can't raise my hand. Blah. I felt a lot better after school, which is to say, no longer feeling like I would keel over at any moment. I debated on what to do after school...I had to pick Ken up at 6:20, and it was a little after 4 when I got out...thought about going home for a moment, but I knew I'd just eat a bunch. I ended up going up to the Che...except that it was burger and fry night, and there really isn't anything to do but cook up and serve as people order, and they've moved the time they start serving to 6pm. D'oh! God only knows why, but they have a bunch of aprons with words like "germ, bodies, etc." I wore the one with "HIV" on it. The head guy had some reservations: his first one was that the customers might think I had it, which I very politely told him they shouldn't care about. His next was that people would think that they forced the person wearing it to wear it because they had HIV. Again, silly. People showed up a little before six, but for god only knows what reason, he wouldn't let us start serving, or really even cooking until 6pm exactly. The burgers were frozen, so the line was fairly backed up. We made a little assembly line for the buns, but I had to leave. I was a little late as it was, but this time Ken didn't just take a cab. :-D We swung by Jack in the Box so he could grab a salad, then home so he could unpack, and then he went over to David's to pick up his shirt. The rest of the night was pretty uneventful. I'd thought we might have sex, but nuthin doing.
