Sunday - Woke up surprisingly early, for having had such a busy day on Saturday, and got everything ready for our trip. Ken made himself breakfast, I had a slice of bread, and then Brandon came over, slightly hungover, and Ken made him a meal as well. The drive up took a surprisingly small amount of time, and we had lunch at The Abbey. Ken got a vegan sammich, and shared half with me. He also bought $50 in drinks for him and Brandon before we moved onto the next bar. We walked over to Eleven, where we'd seen the awful Perry Twins DJ the last time we were there. We all had a drink there, and hung out for a long time, talking about this and that (and the dieux du stade dvd that was playing), before finally heading back to The Abbey for dinner. Ken and Brandon shared a chicken salad, and we all shared a plate of hummus and pita. The first time I went to the bathroom, a gent started trying to initiate a bathroom hook-up...I didn't think much of it, but I was glad for it a few minutes later when Ken started talking about the various boys there, and how if he was single, he would have done this or done that. Just nice to be hit on is all. Having had so little sleep, I was a little cranky, so it was good that, other than constantly talking about "if I was single", Ken was a remarkably good, even great boyfriend. The concert was good - the opener was some folksy lesbian, and the crowd wasn't really having it. Poor girl. She was good, her genre is just a little tired at this point, and she brought nothing new to the table. Goldfrapp finally went on around 9, and did a great job. I was pleased with everything they played, though I would have liked to have heard Lovely 2 C U, but when they closed with Train, I went nuts. Simply phenomenal. They came back for an encore, and closed that with the best rendition of Strict Machine I've ever heard. The drive back actually seemed shorter - technically, it was, since there was no traffic, but relativity should at least equalize that, since we were all so tired. Ken initially worried that he might not make the drive, and ask me to take over, but I chattered about this and that and nothing the whole time, and we got home just fine. I was heading for staying up late again, in spite of being so tired, but Ken came and got me.
