Sunday - Woke up and snuggled, though not as early as the day before, and without the promise of sex. We received word from Dallas that he'd been evacuated from New Orleans, and would be back in the afternoon. Sucks for him and for Glenn, but what can you do? My post on The PPK was simply flooded with congratulations. My LJ post, not so much. I got an e-mail from Aimee, asking why on earth I put the ring on a present The Boy gave me, and how my post caught him by surprise, and how he wasn't dealing well with it. I called him, for what it's worth. Took as much berating as I could handle, which I certainly hope made him feel better, and then we left.
We stopped at the Viejas outlets, so Ken could pick up a watch he'd seen that was on super sale. The parking was atrocious - we drove around for about 15 minutes with no luck, so I dropped him off. I meant to just find an out of the way spot and sit there, but after about 15 minutes more, a space opened up right in front of me, so I took it and joined him. He was getting a different watch - a little more expensive, but he liked it exponentially more. If he's happy, I'm happy, and this watch didn't have a leather band. The poor lady behind the counter kept having to take links out of the watch, and there was another customer who was not understanding at all. She was finally able to help the other lady, only to have the other lady try on a few things and leave. I did my best to sympathize, and she was laughing when I left. Caught very very little traffic on the way up, so we made great time. The hotel was absolutely beautiful. We walked around the inside, which was almost like a mall, and got some chinese food. I hadn't been going to, but I splurged and bought a Formulated Soy Drink. Ken initially scoffed at the idea of mixing that with Jack, but he changed his tune when he tried some. I'm a visionary. :-D He texted back and forth with Cobus, who was staying in the same hotel, and his friend Travis, who actually lives in LA. Both of them met us for a drink at the rotating bar on the 35th floor. I was glad to meet Travis, and we seemed to get along well. His sense of humor is vaguely reminiscent of Kate's, which of course I loved. Cobus went back to his room early, and Travis had to work at 10, so we left things around 8:30. We stopped back at the room, but just to grab keys and the like before heading out. I'd never been to WeHo, so we went to The Abbey, and Rage, and EastWest. I had a drink at the first spot, but since I was driving, I stopped after that. Ken had a couple, and was really feeling disturbed by how tipsy he was feeling. We stopped for a slice of pizza, and then went back to the hotel. He was very concerned, since it was only midnight, but I was happy with the evening. I got to see the bars, see the people, and the important thing was that I was with him. Laid awake a little while in the bed before finally falling asleep. We almost had middle of the night sex, but I didn't trust myself, and I was too lazy to get up and make sure. Oh well.
