Picky Little Bird
Jul. 30th, 2008 09:52 amTuesday - I was supposed to do laundry and take the donations up to the Animal Thrift Store, but my ankle didn't hurt when I woke up, it was just stiff and swollen, and I was in no hurry for it to start. Mostly ended up playing around on the Heroes application for Facebook, though I also did a lot of studying. I am absolutely LOVING the work that, if my book is to be believed, gets done in, and then out, of law school. I am cautiously optimistic that I made the very most rightest choice by going. Ken sent an e-mail to April early in the morning, talking about how he felt as though their friendship had become uneven, citing his being willing to take time off of work to drive up to LA the last couple times she was up there, and her not even responding with a "no, I can't." He sent it to her personal e-mail, so that she would get it at home, but of course it went right to her Blackberry. She called him back, but he missed the call. When he got home, we watched TV for a while, and then he started asking what was for dinner, and alternated that with the open mouth thing The Boy does when he's hungry. As always, he wasn't actually interested in having me provide a solution, he just wanted to irritate me. Scrimping my way down to $20 on groceries for the month (and it's only that high because my protein powder is $12 and I'm a glutton), it's really not very nice to have someone who makes 80k/year asking you to feed them. He eventually decided he wanted Greek food, and went to pick up kebabs from Mama's. I made an avocado & tofu thing which was decent, if unsatisfying. Later, I was trying to make myself some rice in the microwave (never do this, it's faster to just make it on the stove) when April called. Ken went into our room to talk to her, and asked to be left alone. I'm mostly fine with that, but why not do it in the equally empty living room, where the TV you want to watch is, instead of the room with the computer? He told me about their talk, and though I could've called him on a number of things, I mostly decided not to. The only thing I did voice an objection to was him telling her that he doesn't have a charmed life. I strongly beg to differ. We watched a little more TV before finally going to bed. I had a lot of trouble sleeping - kept rehashing the same old things in my head.
