Lady Miss Friday woke me while it was still dark for breakfast, even though she had food on her plate. Just wanted to change up her order, I suppose. I managed to get back to sleep but then snoozed a little too long and didn't have time for the morning chores. Julian said he'd take care of it, which I hate accepting, but given my current position at work, couldn't really afford not to take him up. Got to work in time that I could have actually done it, but see above about risk. Fairly quiet day and it seemed downright strange after the last couple weeks to not have anyone there. I made sure to take home the letter of recommendation I wrote for Matt when he confessed to drugs to his military command. I also scanned and sent it it to me because I know myself and I think I lost the printed copy before I even got home.

Julian went to lunch with Sam, Baba Yaga's Chicken. Julian got the Atomic Fire Chicken and Sam bought him some spicy mac and me some vegan truffles with a joke about my expiration date. Colleen texted me to ask what to get me for my birthday but as I've mentioned before, the truth of the idiom "it's the thought that counts" just echoes louder every year, and the phone call was delightful. And Tim called, texted, messengered, sent smoke signals, and a singing telegram that Christina's firm was hiring. Specifically looking to hire an inexperienced lawyer. That would obviously be a big pay raise, and awesome to be a Real Lawyer, it would just also mean pausing PILF. Of course, PILF might pause anyway if I get fired.
