thepnutgalleryDidn't do much Saturday during the day - Took some things to storage, looked for a wall-hanging spice rack (no luck), and dropped off some looooooooong overdue books. Went out with Justin and some other guy to Martini's. I didn't drink, and didn't eat much, though there was one appetizer that was vegan, so I had part of it. Stopped in at #1 on Fifth before heading down to BevMo (Macadamia Nut Liquour - who knew?) and then over to Justin's.
I was juuuust starting to get cranky from being the only sober person in the room when we got to Justin's, so the timing was just right. Brandon and Chris joined us, which was a lovely surprise, since I hadn't seen them in months. We had invited Dallas to join us, but he and a friend were having drinks with Hank and Jonathan. Ken and I had a VERY serious talk about that in the kitchen, though ultimately decided to let it be. It's the one area where my desire to be completely open about all details of my life and his being a naturally private person collide. Eventually headed out to Montage, where Manny Lehman was spinning and our VIP cards got us in for free. Ken had been messaging his ex Shaun (not to be confused with friend Sean) all week, and he happened to be there at the club. I was kinda tipsy, and was slightly uncomfortable. Ken disappeared at one point, and was having Grown Up Talk with Shaun. I found them, and Shaun was UBER nice. He gave me a big hug, and his drink. I like him already! :-D He left, and then we went upstairs and had a little Grown Up Talk of our own. Well, I will see your Grown Up Talk, and raise you thoughts about suicide.
The night did not go well from there. I was Emo McExistentialpants, which Ken can't stand. It wasn't a fight, but I definitely had higher hopes for the evening. I wish we had just gotten back on the dance floor when things started to go south.
