Cake is Cake, People
Nov. 9th, 2007 12:08 pmFelt very productive yesterday - I went through papers and clothing from Casa de Casa, saved what I needed, threw away what couldn't be donated, and donated what I could. Debated going to TJ's, to pick up vodka, Lychee vodka, and Candy-Cane Joe-joes, but I'm kinda proud of myself for not drinking since Sunday, and I certainly don't fancy the survival chances of a box of cookies in my house, even if I say they're for the party on Saturday. Ken had a Dr.'s appointment at 2, so he was home before me, and did come cleaning up while he was there. Our dressers are reflective!
He'd also picked up some stuff for dinner - black beans, corn, and green chile, and just needed to pick up some flat bread to finish the dish. Yum! We made dinner together on Tuesday, but every other day this week, he's made it. I'm kind of conflicted about this. On the one hand, it's AWESOME. It's the sweetest thing ever, and I love the stuff he makes. On the other hand, I feel horrible horrible guilt that he's going through all this effort for me. Not really sure what to do about that. Anyway, after dinner, he watched the news while I studied, and then he was off to poker. I had been going to attend a Zumba class down at Frog's, but looking at a sample on the web convinced me against it. I'll do piques down the aisles at the grocery store, but I am NOT "step-touch"ing my way to fitness.
I went to Aimee's B-day dinner at Vesuvio's, intending to only be there for a little while but stayed for the whole thing. Started to get a bit snarky towards the end, when everyone seemed to agree that vegan = teh grossness, in spite of having eaten wonderful vegan foods themselves. I was especially tempted with Aimee's co-worker, who apparently tried to bake vegan cookies once, and couldn't give them away to the homeless. Please do not take your lack of baking ability out on veganism in general, Kthxbai. Went home to find tipsy Ken playing Crack - ate some bread and drank some broth until he was done, and then went to bed. Mmmmm...Ken-blanket.....
